Prayer Requests 12-2-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 117

Praise the Lord, all you nations;
    extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

Praise the Lord.

  1. We’ve had a lot of deaths at church in the last few weeks. Three people I personally interacted with died in the last week.

The October event, of course, is a long haul mission project.

Our church is at the beginning of the transition for our senior pastor to retire.

    By definition, finances are strained.

    It’s December and very busy.

Our two pastors could use prayer; as could the rest of us as we love and try to care for one another. We’re tired–but the joy of the Lord is our strength. In our weakness, God is strong.

    Thanks.

  2. Richard who died yesterday in his sleep, was in his early 80s and one of our elders. His second of three daughters had a serious brain aneurysm in the spring. She’s still not completely recovered.

His wonderful wife Joanie had a brain aneurysm four months later. She’s back and gaining strength–and praying for all of us, including Biddy’s book–but is still not strong.

His son-in-law is the pastor of a small church north of here, brought in to revitalize the congregation two years ago. He had double knee replacement surgery three weeks ago.

They’re all Christians, but we’re grieving and weeping with them. You all know. Sometimes you wonder how much is too much, then you return to in our weakness, God is strong.

    Our hearts are hurting.

  3. Update on the newborn Baby Zeke, whom I mentioned the other day:

His mama has finally been able to see him. He is being sedated, but he opened his eyes when he heard her voice.

The diagnosis is hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. His brain is being cooled, & he is on a ventilator, which is not a good sign. The prognosis is not good. Please pray for a miracle of healing for this little baby, & salvation for his family. Thank you.

  4. Sadly, I found some of my underwear under the drawers in son’s bedroom. I looked there because I found a used condom next to his dresser yesterday. Prayer for me that I won’t be disconcerted. I had the men in church talk with him this morning. I don’t know how it went. God does. I will continue to block my door, lock my other door, and keep a gun close by. But then, if I was trusting God, would I do any of that? Or is it just good common sense?
