Prayer Requests 7-22-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 138

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
    and will praise your name
    for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
    for you have so exalted your solemn decree
    that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me;
    you greatly emboldened me.

May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
    though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
    You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

  1. And our favorite EMT is winging away. She should be in Panama about now, where she’ll meet up with friends from our church. The whole group will then continue on to Nicaragua together. From Managua, they’ll fly in a small plane and CR and another person will ride the bus all the way to Sabalos.

    It was a whirlwind week, but everything got done. By letting her sleep most of the first 30 hours after she arrived home (I packed), she was back on her game by Wednesday and went to work that night, along with Thursday. Oh, to have the energy of a young person again!

    Thanks for prayers. Weather is supposed to be miserable–but they’ve said that before only to see things clear up when our team arrived. 🙂

  2. A co-worker friend of my wife’s had surgery yesterday for spinal stenosis. She’s in a lot of pain and is really bummed out. The surgery took longer than expected due to the severity of it. This is the latest in a long series of surgeries. She already had a hip replaced, broke her femur and had to have it replaced again, and numerous others. Like 25 different surgeries. She could really use some prayer. Her name is Lisa. Thanks

  3. Thank you for your prayers. Wind shear on first attempt to land at Managua. The airplane bounced when it touched the runway, and they took off again, and successfully landed on the second try.

    The weather was projected to be thunder storms. It rains like a monsoon. I’m just glad she’s safe on the ground and able to cheerfully text!

  4. I have a lot to get accomplished by mid-August, and this week will be especially busy. Prayers for stamina and wisdom in making the best use of my time. Thanks.

  5. And now this week will become even busier…

    We’re finding more and more areas of flood damage in our basement. 😦 More carpet will have to be ripped out tomorrow. We didn’t have standing water in our basement like some in our area after the flooding Wednesday/Thursday/Friday did, so we weren’t as aware of the extent of the seepage in parts of the basement covered by furniture and boxes/storage tubs, etc.

    Please pray for sunshine tomorrow so we can have windows open to dry and air out in here. Prayers also appreciated that mold and health issues don’t become a problem. Thank you.
