Prayer Requests 12-24-16

Anyone have something to share?

Matthew 1:18-25

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

  1. Heavenly Faher,

Thank You that Your word addresses every human need. There is so much pain and reason for grief here on earth. During the holidays we have expectations that everything will be cheerful and bright, but then we remember another in a desperate situation when there was no room at the inn and only a dirty animal stall in which to give birth. Thank You, God, for sinking low to experience the human condition first hand.

I lift up my friend’s here on the blog. They all have a set of needs and You are the supplier of all good gifts. Comfort through unimaginable grief is one good gift I ask for Debra’s family. Also, I pray that Your strength would firmly establish the life of tiny Abigal. Please infuse the strength of two into her in all arenas of her life.

I pray for reconcilment between brother and sister for Annms along with a transformed heart in her brother.

I pray for all the children and other family members who are prodigal from knowing You as their Heavenly Father through a relationship with Jesus. May they each soon discover how much they need Jesus in their lives. Please let them receive the good gift of the joy of salvation.

I pray for the sick who are not up for enjoying Christmas. May they quickly get over what ails them. May their illnesses not spread to others.

I lift up 6 Arrows for this whole process of bringing a group together for a weekend. Please let Your peace, love, joy, and hope for continuation of good relationships reign and overcome momentary annoyances.

I pray for Stargazer to find the even better position You are making for him. Thank You for supplying the teaching position where he is able to be a good influence in young lives.

Lord, please keep safe all who are in travel mode during this season of travel challenges. Please keep any threats from terrorism halted by our security people.

I pray for those in foreign lands who are touched by war or threat of war. You know their needs for safety in its various forms. Please bless the children of the world who suffer from hurtful situations.

Thank You for listening again and again to the nonending chorus of human needs. May Your answers to our prayers be well received with gratitude. In Jesus, Amen

  2. A prayer request I was asked to pass along. . .

Asking prayer “for a little boy named Dakota. They had to life flight him. He is having seizures.”

I don’t know anything more, nor do I know the boy, but a friend asked me to share this with others.

  3. Due to rain earlier today, & now “flash freezing”, it is being reported on Facebook that the roads are very icy & slick. There’ve been two rollovers in our town this evening. Nightingale will be driving home from work in about an hour & a half, so please pray for her safety. (And that those in the rollovers will be okay.) Thank you.

  4. Just saw on fb that our friends, Rod and Becky lost their daughter to the cancer she has been fighting for a few years now. They have a son, too, who will be missing his sister. She is a believer and always believed she was in God’s hands, as did they. Doctors were amazed at how long and well she was doing. I know they are relieved she is out of pain and in Jesus’ arms. Yet their grief will be great. I know they would appreciate all prayers.

  5. My back/hip problem, which had finally been easing quite a bit, is feeling pretty painful today. Please pray it eases up again, & manages to heal before it gets hurt again. Thank you.
