Prayer Requests 7-9-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 79

¹O god, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.

How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.

10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

  1. My “big sister” heart hurts today. There is a woman I began working with in 2004 when she was only 19 or 20. I left that company and she followed. The joke for years is that she is the baby sister my parents neglected to have for me. She at one time felt the same about me. I have been so proud of her accomplishments. She was married to a man who she says cheated on her. Once there was a “domestic” situation and I posted bail to get him out of jail. You wouldn’t believe the butt chewing he received from me on his way home. I may or may not have threatened to kill him if he ever laid another hand on her. He promised me to do better and I think he probably did.
I brought her to work with me at the real estate company where I currently am. I put her to work with Guy. I introduced her to another top agent for them to handle a community together. She didn’t show up with either of them. She came into my office and told me that second husband was abusing her. I had two men ready to “pay a visit” to said husband. I even had Guy ready to give her money to help her start over. Then she disappeared on me.
When BG got in trouble in November I saw her at the courthouse. She was checking in on probation and was pregnant (she already had two children with first husband and both had to be kept in the hospital after birth and she experienced terrible pregnancies). I questioned her and she gave me a story.
In the way of small towns a woman called a local church yesterday and asked to be put in touch with a certain minister who had given up his church when he admitted his alcoholism and now alcoholics and drug addicts are his ministry. She ended up speaking with a woman who now works for the church who is a good friend to “baby sister” and me. She is desperate to find help for her daughter who has a drug and alcohol addiction. It was one of those moments when I knew what was coming when I answered the phone. Former co-worker was halfway through the set up of the story when I just KNEW.
I do love her as if she were my baby sister. I will do anything I can to help her. There are 3 children whose mother is an addict. THAT hurts my heart most of all. I know that first husband will step up and do what is right for his two children but I don’t have a clue who is the father of the baby.
Please pray for these children. They are innocent in this situation. Pray also for C. She needs to get her life together and be a mother.
    Thank you.

  2. We learned in church today of another young man who overdosed. He was only 22 and three times in treatment. I hear way too many of these sad stories.
