  1. 😦 No car. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” (Proverbs)

🙂 The money from selling the car to a junkyard will help to cover some upcoming bills.

🙂 The hordes descend upon us today. Little Niece is looking forward to seeing her cousins. “When the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” (Second half of the above Proverb)

  2. 🙂 I’m off to speak at a Lutheran Women’s Missionary League potluck luncheon for about 70 today.

😦 I’m fasting for a medical procedure on Monday morning.

    Somehow this seems really unfair.

😦 Death of our friend Pam

🙂 Outpouring of love from our church members and friends to the family.

🙂 Two days of good writing on Biddy.

😦 Probably won’t get back to her before Tuesday afternoon at the earliest.

    🙂 Plenty of time.

🙂 Won a silent auction for 3 hours of public relations training.

🙂 The woman, based in DC, read My Utmost every day and as part of her job prepares people to be interviewed on major TV shows and to testify before Congress. Nonfiction is her specialty.

🙂 After nearly two months of getting nowhere in my efforts to interview–at least on paper–Brother Andrew, my agent remembered and is now in contact with someone who sees him all the time and often acts as his co-writer.

🙂 This is the last important bit of information I think I need to gather to finish the book.

🙂 Only 4 chapters to go.

😦 Only 4 chapters to go.

    This is the hardest one.

Except maybe the last one–to know just how to phrase what I need to say.

🙂 Maybe one more interview, this time with the author of the OC biography.

🙂 He is a wonderful man who always has answered my emails promptly.

I’m going to be so forlorn when this project is done but, at least I have rewriting to look forward to! (And I do. I love the rewriting).

  3. 🙂 😦 Some of Elvera’s kin from SC are coming up to take most of the stuff we have in our basement. It’s finished and furnished, so there’s lots of good stuff we’re disposing of.

    🙂 The Lions received a bequest. $150,000.
    No. We don’t know.

  4. Michelle, a humorous story for you. We hosted the LWML meeting at our church a few weeks ago and one of our ladies did the “talk.” Midway through, a cell phone rang, interrupting her. Turned out it was her own phone, in her purse on the pew where she’d been sitting.

(So sorry for the loss of your friend and I am definitely praying for you and her family and friends)

  5. 🙂 Emily has gotten her first nursing job!

She will be working every other weekend, both Saturday & Sunday, 3pm – 11pm. She has another interview this coming week with a company that does wellness clinics, & they like to hire recent grads to give them some experience. That would be a per diem job. (Per diem & part-time jobs are common for LPNs, at least for new ones.)

She’ll still be working some hours at Claire’s until she can pick up enough hours as an LPN. She also has plans to go back to school in the fall, as she continues her journey towards being an RN, & maybe someday a nurse-midwife.

  6. 🙂 Garden is in! So much work, but also fun – and then we get to actually enjoy the fruits of our labour!

    🙂 Sunny and hot here

😦 Very dry – fire hazard at extreme

🙂 I get to rest for the rest of the day

  7. I told her about my DI. She had breast cancer. She had radiation treatment and is now cancer free.
‘I know having cancer isn’t fun. But it’s no longer a death warrant.

  8. 🙂 My son graduated from high school today. He went to a charter school at the local community college that draws most course work from the college after the first year. He graduated with a high school diploma and an associates degree. We’re proud of him.
