America is a nation in crisis. President Obama is more dictator than President. Congress refuses to balance the national check book while the Supreme Court shreds the moral fabric upon which our society was built.
This crisis exists because ‘We the People’ abandoned our responsibilities as citizens. We are disengaged, uneducated, and mute. We do not teach our children that America is more than a nation; it’s a concept worth defending.
After 26 years in the military and 14 years living in Germany, Japan, Greece, Italy, Canada, and South Africa, I am convinced that America remains the greatest nation on earth. Our Founding Fathers developed a framework for government that freed citizens to succeed.
Certainly, compromises were required. Slavery was a national embarrassment that cost much blood and treasure to correct, and our nation, at times, has not been entirely honorable, just ask the Native Americans.
But no other nation has lifted so many out of poverty, or rebuilt defeated enemies, or inspired hope for people around the world like America has. No other country can match America’s record of invention and innovation. America is the greatest force for ‘good’ the world has ever known. When tragedy strikes anywhere – America reaches out to assist.
I am a proud American, but our nation is being crippled by political malfeasance. President Obama is succeeding in his goal to fundamentally transform America – into something it was never intended to be – a morally and fiscally bankrupt nation. Only ‘We the People’ can fix this.
