Prayer Requests 12-31-15

Please remember to keep KBells and her family in prayer as they grieve the loss of her mother.

And it’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm

¹The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  1. Heavenly Father,

I lift up Kbells and her family as their lives feel a great loss through the passing of their beloved Mama. Please love them through this loss. May they keep joyful memories of her in mind that will dull the sharp edges of grief. Bless them each with peace and comfort. In the name of Jesus, Amen

  2. My friend G posted that he left Long Beach, CA at 6:30 am and arrived here at 2:30am He was traveling home with his recently widowed mother, bringing his stepfather home for a funeral on Monday. Please remember his family in prayers as they say goodbye to a good husband, father, and stepfather.

  3. For kBells’ family & for G’s family, I pray a spirit of cooperation & unity as they go through the next few days & beyond, in dealing with funeral arrangements & division of property & such. That can be such a trying time for families.

  4. They’re keeping Carol for another day, but she’ll be transferred to another hospital in Monterey Park as she doesn’t have actual insurance (other than government coverage). Her potassium levels are too low.

Prayer for me also, looks like I’ll have to cover her phone bill — I don’t want her to be without a phone and her phone will be turned off soon, but for some reason she said she owes extra this time (of course). 😦

    Ugh.

I suppose I can stop into one of the metro PC stores and pay for her #? Or call them?

  5. Got Carol’s phone bill paid. they’re looking for another hospital bed for her somewhere else now so she’ll spend at least another night, maybe more, in a hospital somewhere around L.A.

And I am glad that FINALLY she’s getting some needed medical attention. I realize now that those low potassium levels could account for some of the weakness, slowness, dizziness and other symptoms I’ve noticed and she’s been complaining about for 2 months now (while the residence’s physician’s assistant just ordered meds and didn’t listen to her requests to see an actual doctor).

I really would like to see her move out of that place, this could have been serious.

Don’t ever be poor and sick at the same time.

  6. And it looks like low potassium also causes slurred speech, falling & weakness — which is exactly what I called the resident nurse (twice) about, saying she needed a workup with a doctor. Never done. Grrr.

I need to file a complaint when this is all over (and she’s able to move out of there).

  7. She’s still at Hollywood Pres Hospital this morning (but they moved her to a private “room with a view” — and a TV, a luxury she doesn’t have at “home,” so she doesn’t sound unhappy). She should go to one of two hospitals in Monterey Park later today, depending on where they have an available bed.

Meanwhile, she has 2 library books due Saturday (people are on the list waiting for them) so I’ll call the library tomorrow and explain the situation, see if they can cut her some slack on fines. Otherwise I may have to try to take care of that myself.

So continued prayers that she will get good care and that the doctors can get her back to more of her “normal” self — and that we can begin to figure out how to move her out of that facility she’s in.
