¹The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Please keep Art and me in prayer. His pain med helps some. It looks like the bleeding may have increased. We will keep a vigilant watch to see if he needs to return to the ER. Thank you for your prayer support.
So this was the first time I’d seen Carol since the episode 2 weeks ago with the slurred speech (which I assumed wrongly at the time was due to alcohol which she consumes in excess but only once or twice a year for a day or two when she “breaks out” drunk). She said today she hadn’t had any alcohol since April, they’re very strict about that at the new place apparently (which is good) and her income is, of course, limited.
She said everyone mentioned her slurred speech which hung on for a week or more.
Her speech isn’t slurred anymore, but there is a definite change, she’s more stooped, her eyes seem “flighty” and uncoordinated at times, she’s sometimes slow at understanding. It’s like she’s moving underwater. She says she’s very tired. When we were loading everything in the car (she always travels heavy, a continual bone of contention with me I’m afraid), she had old mail, some trash, about 5 cloth bags filled with “stuff” (empty water bottles, etc.), 2 huge study Bibles, 2 sweatshirts (on an 85-degree day) — and the 30 library books we had to return. Oy. Along with the walker, the entire back of the Jeep was filled.
Some of that isn’t unusual, she’s a bag lady at heart and always brings way too much stuff with her — but the “trash” and random old mail she brought along was weird.
I’m supposed to call the nurse at the facility in a little while to talk to her about my concerns, but I’m quite sure something happened in her head.
(And when we stop in at Denny’s for lunch, she’s always on her phone as that’s the only time she gets free public WiFi so she is busy-busy downloading things — today her phone sat face down on the table, she never even looked at it, and she ate really slowly, couldn’t finish her lunch — though it was a humongous burger, half a cow on that bun.)
I’m also going to send an email to her brother back east, he’d talked to her recently, too, and also assumed she’d been drinking according to Carol.
So prayers that she can get some medical attention. And also, if it could work out, that she might be able to return to her old facility in Downey where she was much better connected to doctors she knew, etc.
Thank You for a sunny with blue sky Sunday. The crisp air feels just right for the season in the south.
Thank You for getting Art through the pains and difficulties of kidney stone blasting and recouperation. Thank You for letting me learn quickly what must be done to care for Art after surgery.
Thank You for watching over the girl, Dakota, mentioned by Karen O. Please, may her pneumonia clear quickly. Help her parents to be strong during such a stressful time. Please be with Lee as he begins his new routine.
Thank You for bringing Kare safely home.
Please help Mumsee and Mike as they work toward decision making. May all the factors be brought to light so a reasonable decision can be made. I pray Your will can be accomplished based on actions related to the decisions made.
I lift up Donna ‘ s friend, Carol, that You would make a better situation for her. Please make a way for proper diagnosis and treatment according to her new symptoms. Thank You for Donna ‘ s compassionate heart.
Please keep all areas targeted by terrorists safe this day. Please make a way for the ‘soft targets’ to become hard and too difficult with protection through You and security personnel. Please keep people safe and acting as a strong and alert force against trickery of infiltration by terrorists.
Last I read, Dakotah was improving. I saw a comment by her aunt that seemed to indicate that she had been released from the hospital, but her mom hasn’t written an update yet.
Thank You for our imaginations that lead us to recognize that things could always be worse and therefore we have great reason to praise You. We never know all the ways You are making our days bearable. You are revealed to us through Scripture and through creation, but there is so much we don’t know about You, but all the unknowns are great based on what we know of Your nature. Thank You for making us grow through the rough times we would rather not go through. The suffering days are like continuing to go through the birth canal of sanctification, learning how to respond more as Christ would respond in difficulties. Thank You for watching over each of us as we sleep despite that terrorists may be active in our vicinities. I ask that You will make them stand out in ways that their plots can be foiled for the sake of the believers in our land. I pray that You will keep our military forces safe wherever they may be stationed. Especially, I ask for You to keep in constant care Fred O.
May all those in the armed services who are Christian be able to show if the can’t tell just what a wonderful difference Christ makes to life. Please, make a way for all those serving and away from families this holiday week to find ways to draw close through the distance to their loved ones. Please take away fears and distress that lead some in the troops to want to commit suicide. Please bring help in their trouble times before they take their lives. May many of the troops turn to You and away from anything that sways their attention away from You and their loved ones at home. I pray this intercession in the name of Jesus who opens Your ears and heart to requests. Amen
