Prayer Requests 11-19-15

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 17

¹Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

14 From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

  1. I am taking Mr. P to Pascagoula today for a steroid injection in his back. This is the process of getting him ready for the stimulator that will be installed/inserted later to help control the pain. I pray the process goes well and easy.

  2. Lee is asking prayer for his knees, especially his left knee. In all these years of delivering bread, he has had to kneel & bend a lot. (He has worn knee pads to cushion the kneeling on hard floors.) The left knee is particularly painful when he bends it or squats (or even half-squats).

  3. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this bright sunny day in Georgia after yesterday’s dreary day. We need the hope felt in sunshine. You knew that at the beginning in how You made people. You even thought to give us a nutrient through sunshine. I am amazed by thoughts of You daily.

Today I lift up those with physical needs. In particular I ask that things go well for Mr. P with that injection that moves him along toward processing pain control. Please make the way smooth so suffering can be reduced.

Also, I lift up Lee who has stressed his body over the years by repetitive motions. You know the stress points, the pain, the worn down cartilage that means bone against bone without proper internal cushioning. I pray that he can find ways to strengthen his overused areas through supplements, variations on movements, and all the various ways You have to help burdened bodies in such situations. Please make ways for pain control along with building back his body to greater function.

I lift up AJ and Cheryl as they continue the recuperation process from injuries. Help them to deal with pain. to continue in exercises to get back to good function, to get good nutrition that will help with repair of hurt body parts, and to get good rest. Please help meet their financial burdens. Make a way through what sometimes can seem unending frustration and barely getting by. Please open up Your storehouses in heaven to meet their needs.

Please help Art to recover from that procedure yesterday. You know what pains him, the spasms from having the stent, the humiliation of using the catheternal for the first time, the burning in his leg, the being ignored by the doctor’said office. I give it all to you, Jesus, for it is a heavy burden. Please help the blood in his urine to be less and yet keep his risk of stroke and clot down through the bloodthinner. It seems impossible to balance the two needs yet You are able.

I lift up the needs of Kbells, Annms, Mumsee, Donna, Chas, and others here who have family and friends with various ailments and sufferings. You know each associated with people on this blog. Please be their help in times of need.

Please bless Jo as she continues meeting the needs of her students. I pray she will feel Your constant peace throughout the upcoming holiday season. May she each day feel blessed by Your presend that will take away any sense of aloneness. Thank You for being our all in all.

I pray for all these needs to You, the One and only God, in the blessed name of promise, Jesus, Amen

  4. Now we need prayers for wisdom & direction.

Lee has an interview tomorrow afternoon with Entenmann’s, which is owned by the same company he had bought his route from (but with Entenmann’s, the route drivers work for the company, they don’t have to buy the routes).

The Entenmann’s job would probably mean more money than Diana’s Bakery (the job he’s set to start on Monday), but the route is out in the boonies, so it would probably be really long hours. The Diana’s route wouldn’t be as lucrative, but probably fewer hours, & the work itself would be much easier on my husband’s body. (And it looks like there is overtime involved, which would add to his paycheck.)

After comparing & contrasting what we know of the two jobs, Lee is leaning on sticking with the Diana’s Bakery job. But he’s still going to go to the interview tomorrow to see what Tony has to say. (Tony is the branch manager whom he had worked with before.)

So please pray that God would give us clear direction on which way to go. Thank you.
