Prayer Requests 9-12-15

Does anyone have something they’d like to share?

Psalm 102:1-18

¹Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee.

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.

My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.

By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.

I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.

For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.

10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.

11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.

12 But thou, O Lord, shall endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.

13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.

16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.

18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.

  1. Prayers for two families in my church who lost their husbands/dads this past week, one due to suicide (found in the garage by his wife and one of the kids — he’d apparently struggled with issues for years, which I hadn’t known).

The other death seems also to have been unexpected.

  2. Not sure what’s going on with Art, but prayers for him.

I would like to request prayers for a coworker named Tracy. Her only grandson died on Thursday evening. He was 6 and had a heart problem. His mother’s name is Marley. She is about months pregnant with her 2nd child. She had blamed herself for his congenital defect. The family is devastated. They are believers that so need to feel the comfort of God. Thank you.

How is Mrs AJ? I have been praying for her.

  3. My problems seem so little in comparison so that is good. Today the tapes playing in my head are not kind. I feel stupid and inferior and unworthy and just about any un you can think of.

  4. My husband, Art, is snoring!!! He has not gotten much sleep in several weeks so this is a welcome sound. 🙂
We will probably go home on Monday with meds and see how he is doing after about two more weeks. So far, so good. Thank you for praying.

  5. We are up in the night at the hospital.
Art was feeling better, but not now. I think he feels frustrated thinking he was getting better. I feel badly that I can’t do more to help him. 😦 At least I am here with him.

  6. The Middletown/Lake County fire is 28 miles north of us–a low mountain range, valley, another low mountain range away. We’re not worried about ourselves, but at least one couple from our church, and possibly several more, have lost their homes. It’s chaotic, people are fleeing like crazy and only one way out. No rain in sight, 0% contained after 24 hours and smoke in our–which is not a big deal for us.

Please pray. Rain would help a lot, but, I don’t know what else.

  7. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for seeing us through difficult days and nights. You are always with us even when we are numb with tiredness and not alert enough to feel Your presence. It is great to be able to count on what we can’t see or feel because of Your promises in Your word.

Please comfort those who have lost their family members mentioned on this thread, the husbands and that young child. Also, please comfort those who have lost their homes to fire. The grief from such losses seem overwhelming. Only You have strength to help the suffering.

Thank You, Abba, for helping Forrest in his school adjustment. Thank You for caring people in the school and for providing new friends for Forrest. Please help Emily and Karen as they try to think of what to do to continue helping him in this transition.

Thank You for the docs and meds that are helping my husband, along with all the nurses and tech staff. Thank You for this beautiful hospital, a new site for me to see in my hometown. We are blessed to be here. Thank You for watching over Miss Bosley again tonight. And thank You for praying friends.

Please bless Jo with a good week with her students. May they all be growing in academic and spiritual knowledge. May their classroom behavior be condusive to learning and always respectful of Jo. Please help Jo to always feel Your love and never feel
disouraged by dwelling on past disappointment. Please keep her spirits high, along with her physical energy level. I ask for needed rain supplied by You. I also continue to ask for rain in CA and other drought afflicted areas.

Please bless Mumsee, especially today on her birthday. Please meet the individual needs along with group needs at the Nest. I praise You for how You have used Mumsee and Mike to bring the young people into a new plan for their lives. Thank You for how You bring lost sheep into caring and corrective homes.

    I pray in Jesus’name, Amen

  8. The fires look awful & I saw someone interviewed on the news who said some people had to leave their dogs behind … 😦 😦

The woman (40-something) whose husband committed suicide was at church today, they sat in the pew right behind me, lots of tears, sobs and hugs after the service. So hard, I can’t imagine how painful that must be …

Keep praying for their peace and strength.
