Prayer Requests 8-20-15

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the rest of the people in PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 80:1-7

¹Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

  1. I have a praise this morning. My daughter got a paramedic position on the rez, only about 4 miles from their home. She has been working at the track, which pays well, but is seasonal
She has been picking up some shifts at her old job in northern NM, about 4 hrs away. This puts her home. After her 2 month orientation she will work 2 24hr shifts a week, and be home with her children the rest of the time. This is a real answer to prayer!

  2. Please continue to pray for rain. Most of the country is suffering. The hard frosts two weeks ago left some areas at higher elevations with their gardens, and only food source, devastated. This seems to happen in those areas about every dozen years.

  3. My father-in-law is back in the hospital, third time in two weeks. I know it has to be hard on Mom, and it’s hard on various members of the family for different reasons. He’s only been overnight the last two times, but this one might be a longer stay.

  4. My father-in-law is expected to be in at least until Sunday this time. They have him on some new medications, and he has so many things wrong with him and so many meds that they need to observe him and make sure he’s OK. Plus he has some issues that present a physical danger to himself (he can get hurt if he falls, and he is now subject to falling), and so I think they’re being all the more careful.

  5. Cheerful daughter just phoned. New job and partner are great, shift goes faster, she was looking for advice so the video editing must be working and she has a housing respite with her best friend for the weekend. Still needs a place to stay (the place she was supposed to see was snatched by the person before her), but she sounded much better.

    Thanks for prayers.

  6. Emily & Forrest are spending the evening over at a friend’s house, with the friend (Stacey) & her husband & three children (the two boys are close to Forrest’s age – one older, one younger – & are his friends). Stacey & her husband are Christians, & attend our church. I love that they are friends (Stacey is a bit more than 10 years older than Emily, having married late), & am praying that Stacey will be able to be a loving witness to Emily in some way, & that Emily will see Jesus in her & her family.
