Prayer Requests 8-17-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 75

¹Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

  1. I am asking for prayer this week. We have an inurnment ceremony for my dad at the end of the week. Also, I big family and friends gathering. I am just far enough away to miss out on the planning. It is being done so late to accommodate my brother who will be back from the Philippines, which is where he lives. It is at a time that makes it pretty much impossible for one of my daughters and her family to attend. I am already feeling the stress.

  2. Praying with you, KI, for the peace of God to fill your heart, spilling over to other family members.

Please pray also for husband, who should be sitting in the chair receiving his six hour infusion of some med that may or may not help and may or may not cause instant death. Thanks.

  3. The loan officer called this morning. Because I am not a W-2 Employee and am now considered self employed, my income cannot be used to qualify for the mortgage.(You have to show income 2 years as self employed) Using only Mr. P’s income the debt ratio is up in the air. I should have known better than get excited. I won’t use this guy again and wont recommend him to anyone either.

  4. My daughter just called, in tears, while driving to her new shift. She has to be out of her friend’s sublet on Wednesday. Does not feel comfortable returning to relatives and can’t seem to find a place to live. Her income, of course, is miniscule. She has an appointment tomorrow to see a “bachelor” apartment–whatever that is–and she’s in the dumps.

We prayed and when I asked her what she wanted me to do–call other friends, other relatives, beg a spot for another week–she sniffed back tears and kept saying, “I don’t know.”

She meets her new partner in 20 minutes and now will have to deal with her EMT job during the LA daylight hours. Please pray for peace for her and a place to live she can afford.

The other relative she has tapped lost her 98 year old mother on Thursday, J was going to ask around at her church, but now CR doesn’t feel comfortable calling her back.

So, you’re parents. You can pray better than me. Thank you.

  5. Kim, I assume that after the real-estate issues of the last few years, they’ve retightened the rules on lending? In 2003 I bought a house with a single month of self-employment income. Of course, I also had a 20% down payment and I bought a house I could easily afford. But I would think that using a self-employment income, especially one with an actual specified amount, as a second income shouldn’t completely disqualify you. I mean, pastors are “self-employed” too, and they buy houses all the time, even with their first pastorate.
