Prayer Requests 7-13-15

Anyone have something to share?

And don’t forget Jo as she begins her journey back to PNG!

Psalm 40

¹I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.

17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

  1. Continuing in prayer for Jo.

Also, I posted this early this morning at the end of the weekend prayer thread:

Prayers for many of you tonight, with severe weather that may have recently or might soon be near your areas, especially in the Midwest yesterday and today, and the Southeast tomorrow.

Praying for Michelle, too, as I believe she is flying from the East Coast to Chicago today. “The Windy City” is supposed to be hit with the major storm system around morning rush hour today, so she may be flying into the storm sometime today.

Lord, give wisdom and safety to all who travel or reside in the impacted areas.

  2. I said a quick prayer for you Jo. I can only imagine this is bittersweet. You are going back to your calling and what you love, but you are leaving the people you love too.
I probably won’t be able to check in much today, but when I remember I will offer up a quick breath of prayer that all is going smoothly.
Safe travels. God be with you.

  3. My daughter and grandson were affected by the weather. They were to fly into Chicago and had their flight delayed. That cost her over 400.00 from lost flights up the line. She is very unhappy about that. Praying all are safe in the storms.

  4. I was here when the storm hit, another one is whomping down now. I haven’t seen weather like this in years. There was a tornado watch while I was in the
Ibrary but the librarian didn’t get the text. Her superiors burst in wanting to know why the researchers (me, a Chinese woman and a German guy) weren’t headed to the basement.

I looked out the window at just a few clouds, perplexed.

It was then called off, so I survived both the threat and the ignorance of the threat!

    Thanks for thinking of me.

Am finding interesting info and enjoying it.

  5. We sure do get some wild weather here, sometimes, in the Midwest. Glad you were already here when it hit, Michelle, and that nothing materialized from the tornado watch.

Kathaleena, that would irritate me no end if I lost that much money in circumstances like with your daughter and grandson.

    Roscuro, praying for your dad.
