Prayer Requests 7-6-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 36

¹The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

  1. I didn’t mention it over the weekend but a dear lady I am friendly with had to put her husband in rehab/detox. When he lost his job some time back he started drinking and it became too much. He became an alcoholic. He was sober for 7 years ..They were to go to Hawaii to attend a wedding but he is terrified of flying and he started drinking again. It spiraled out of control very quickly.
Having been down this path with him before she is being quite strong with him. Prayers for both of them please. That he gets sober and can stay that way and for her that she will accept him, but remain strong.

  2. That reminds me that July 4 was the 13th anniversary of my husband’s sobriety. We are so very grateful to God for His deliverance.

There was one time, several years after getting sober, that Lee was particularly tempted to drink, due to the stresses he was under, but he threw himself on God for help, & made it through without giving in to temptation. Praying for your friends, Kim.

Speaking of Lee, he called to tell me he had a little “episode” this morning. While going to the bathroom, he briefly felt winded, & his head began to pound. That went away, but he took some aspirin anyway. There was also a little blood in his urine this morning (which could be an effect from the prostate cancer or maybe because he didn’t drink much water yesterday) but not at a later time.

Please pray for his health. Thank you.

  3. How stupid do you have to be to fail your Junior year because you were tardy and absent so you have to attend summer school and you decide to skip the first day of the second session of summer school because you are too tired to go and you have one day you can miss???????

  4. Sixteen year old son has an iphone and pays for it all himself. Including replacing the screen he broke. He realized it was less expensive to replace it himself and did a fine job. He is the only one we have allowed to do that as he has been incredibly responsible. He is driving a combine today. But he knows that if he is ever late for work or any other evidence of being too tired inflicting on his responsibilities, he will no longer own an iphone though he will own the bills.

  5. Hubby is up for two jobs. His problem is that he’d prefer the second job and is afraid he will be offered the first before he knows if he has a chance at the second one. If he turns down the first one and then doesn’t get the second one he’ll have nothing. But if he takes the first one and is then offered the second one…. Y’all get the gist. Prayers that he will make the right decision and that at least one of them works out.

  6. KBells, if he gets offered the first job, can he ask for a couple of days to think it over? (He might even want to call the senond, in such an inastance, and tell them he has been offered a different job, but didn’t want to saty yes without talking to them since he’d rather work for the.) Ecuse any typos; I’m typing with a compress on my eye and no glasses, hunt and peck.)

  7. Cheryl that is what he is hoping for. His interview for the first job is Thursday and he is trying to get a hold of the guy who recommended him for the second to move up that interview.

  8. Cheryl came along and said (the part in parentheses) exactly what I was going to say to KBells. 🙂

    Prayers for all the requests.

Cheryl, why do (or did?) you have a compress on your eye?

Hubby went to the doctor last week because he’d been struggling with fatigue for a few weeks. (He never told me that, and I couldn’t tell, because he keeps up his regular pace — waking in the 5:00 a.m. hour and going to bed at midnight — unrelentingly.)

Anyway, he suspected it might be Lyme’s Disease causing the fatigue, so he got tested.

    Test came back positive today.

Prayers that the antibiotics will wipe it out, and that it hasn’t disseminated in this time he’s gone untreated. Thanks.

  9. My daughter-in-law with all the knee issues and blood problems, fell yesterday and it was her knee that popped. She sees the specialist tomorrow but is feeling like it will be surgery. Her sister, who has also had ACL surgery, comes tomorrow for a couple day visit.

There are 18 steps up to their house–which is one of the reasons we sold it. Please pray however you’re led, we’re all pretty tense about this and how we’ll manage. Three rambunctious but adorable children. My son doesn’t have time off . . .
