We are planning to go to the wedding of eighteen year old son’s sister tomorrow, about four hours away. But husband’s health is deteriorating again. Thanks.
It hurt more today than Wednesday, but that was likely due to my not having spaced out my exercises enough yesterday. I normally do them in the early afternoon, and then again around 10:00 pm, but yesterday I didn’t do the first round until around 5:00 pm, so my two sessions were too close together. It probably would have been better to skip that second session, but I didn’t. Live and learn.
My range of motion has definitely improved in the last two days, though, my therapist said. At home, I can reach up high enough now to shampoo the top of my head with both hands, something I haven’t been able to do for many weeks. And I can get both hands behind my back now (though only down low with the bad arm, around my waistline, not up to my middle or upper back yet from below) and touch the fingers of my two hands together behind my back.
So there is some progress, for which I am thankful. But I miss playing the piano with both hands (and playing right hand alone just wasn’t very satisfying, so I quit that altogether for the time being).
I don’t really miss doing housework, though. 😉 The kids have been awesome in that.
And I’ve got many prayers going up on my behalf, and that is a blessing. Thank you.
My former pastor’s wife has taught piano for years, her right arm has gone out but told me today she can still play. I think hers was caused by a fall or other injury if I remember right though
The physical therapist asked me if I’d ever fallen or been injured in that area, or had previous surgery there, because frozen shoulder can often result from such things. Ten or twelve years ago I took a fall ice skating, and one arm/shoulder hurt for a while, but I can’t remember which one it was. I didn’t break anything, though, and the pain didn’t last much more than just the day it occurred, if I recall correctly, so it was probably something more recent, or just a weakness that I have in general, that brought it on.
Interestingly, he also noted (though this doesn’t apply to me) that people who are on cholesterol-lowering medications are more likely to get frozen shoulder (or maybe frozen joints of any sort).

Sorry to hear about your husband’s health deteriorating again, Mumsee. Praying.
Yesterday wasn’t a good day for me, pain-wise, and today I feel like I was hit by a truck. Second therapy appointment at 1:00 Central today. Thanks.
