¹Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Went to my friend’s home for dinner last night. God made it very clear that moving in with them would not work (room is small with a large bed and a piano). So… I am waiting to see where He wants me to go this week. I don’t want to sound picky, we are very close friends, but her daughter and family are already living with them.
Thanks for praying for my daughter last night. She called very upset – so upset we couldn’t even talk to her. I suggested she go get something to eat and then text or call us and then we would talk. It worked! Had a good conversation with her when she called back. By the end she was laughing and cracking jokes again. Amazing what food will do (I’m very much like that as well).
Pray that I’ll soon shake this gastrointestinal attack I’ve been hit with today, cause unknown (Noro? some kind of food bacteria?). It hit very abruptly a couple hours after I got up.
I’ve been really sick, spending most of the day in the bathroom, but am feeling a little better now. I haven’t eaten anything but should drink some fluids I suspect, I’m probably getting dehydrated. I have some OJ in the house at least. And my neighbors got home from the desert early so I can call her if I need something at the store.
Pray for my friend Norma, she seems to be declining quickly (which may be a blessing).
Her good friend from teaching years & another close friend of ours from church, who just retired at the first of this year, have been taking turns going over there to be with her in shifts this past week. But now they’ve arranged for a full-time caregiver to be there 24/7, which is a relief as Norma’s unsteady on her feet and is up and down much of the night.
Meanwhile, it’s almost 3 a.m. as I’m typing this (I went to bed at 11 and slept for a few hours, but now feel wide awake). I think whatever this acute attack was is slowly relenting, although not gone yet. But I’m hoping to formally “break up” going steady with my bathroom in the next 24 hours. I’ll be skipping church in the morning, obviously.
I actually said a prayer of thanks for indoor plumbing on Saturday.
Mumsee – Thank you for your words to me on yesterday’s prayer thread. ❤

Not a fun Saturday.
