Psalm 141
¹ Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.
6 When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
7 Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.
8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
Please pray for my new friend, Sarah, today. Two years ago yesterday she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, stage 4, 2B. She had 8+ months of chemo and is now in remission. She has a CT scan today about which she is worried as she wasn’t supposed to have another CT for 3 more months.
She just started working as the cook at Camp Kadesh and is doing a marvellous job despite feeling tired and weak some days. This amazing young lady is just 21. Please pray that she will feel God’s presence and peace as she drives the 3 hours to her CT and back home again. Please pray for continued healing for her body.
As you may remember, it has been several months since he decided he should sell his route, & about two & a half months since a man, Artie (who owns his own route, but wants to buy another for his son to run for him), said he wanted to buy it, & began the process. I wrote recently about how Artie is now also looking at a different route, & not sure he’ll buy Lee’s, but there may be two or three others now interested.
Lee is quite weary of the hours & stresses of this route. He was hoping it would have been sold by his birthday in April, then hoping he’d be finished with it by Memorial Day weekend, but he’s still on it. Since beginning the selling process, his bread truck has needed at least a couple repairs.
We both know we need to wait on the Lord & His timing, but Lee is having a tough time of doing that lately. Please pray for him to be encouraged, & to have renewed patience. Thank you.
(BTW, Artie is known as Artie the Russian, & there’s also an Artie the Pollack there 🙂 Sounds like he’s in the Mafia, doesn’t it?)
Heavenly Father, I pray peace over the two above mentioned needs from Kare and Karen. Totally different situations, but basically needing Your provision in the midst of two stresses, in the anxiety of the unknown. Please, Lord, let Your peace cover these people, their families, and those who will work with them to make good things happen. I know You are making a way through for these children who though grown still need You as their Abba to reassure them with special words of comfort and the feeling of Your loving presence. I pray for a release of Your best, in Jesus’ name, Amen
