  1. Alleluia Christ is risen
    Christ has risen indeed, Alleluia

(The Alleluia has been missing during Lent)
I am going to the 8 am service this morning.
I think we all need a little something as we prepare for the day. With a hat tip to Bob Buckles

  2. Happy Resurrection Day, Folks!

Remember I told you that YF was fasting from Facebook for Lent? Well, she is back – with a vengeance! – as of last night, posting several things, as is her wont.

The one that really bothered me, though, was this one…

    http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/04/03/twitter-hilariously-mocks-conservative-christians-with-thingsjesusneversaid-images/

“Conservative “Christians” brought this on themselves. That’s what happens when you don’t actually read the Bible you hide behind.

Still not satisfied that conservatives have been mocked enough over the anti-gay religious freedom laws they have been pushing in Indiana, Arkansas, and elsewhere across the country, Twitter users began a campaign called #ThingsJesusNeverSaid.

For years, conservatives have used the Bible to excuse their heartless and hateful agenda, even though most, if not all, of their positions contradict what the religious text actually says. So Twitter decided to remind conservatives of things that Jesus never said. Covering topics from atheism to gay rights to Catholic Cardinals to Chik-fil-a to Israel to healthcare and more, these tweets are hilarious and shows who really reads the Bible.

The tweets are pretty bad, horribly twisting & misrepresenting what conservative Christians believe. She prefaced the post by writing, “This is a treasure trove.” 😦

This is the kind of thing I would expect my anti-Christian friends to share, but it is shameful that it was shared by one who claims to be a devout Christian. Her bitterness & anger (bordering on hatred) towards those with whom she disagrees seems to be growing.

Please pray God breaks through all that bitterness & anger, & convicts her of her attitude, drawing her into a closer relationship with Him.

  3. I’ve seen the same thing with liberal Christians, Karen, they’re so filled with anger and hubris that they can’t seemingly see in themselves.

I saw some mocking of Christians today from atheists on FB (to be expected — something about whether the Christians being killed by terrorists have “raised” themselves yet — hahahaha. Hilarious. Get it? Such knee-slapping humor). But even with those nonbelievers, I wonder what prompts someone to so rudely and immaturely trash others’ deepest beliefs on a public forum like that.

  4. The part of I-40 down the mountains seemed to be bordered by redbud bushes. They are called redbud, but they looked purple to me. Anyhow, they are beautiful.
Traffic was heavy this afternoon. Everybody in the world was on I-40, going both ways. Except when I got on I-26, they happened to be there.

  5. Chas – It would tire me, too, because I’m an introvert, & even enjoyable social situations make me tired afterwards, though maybe not as tired as you “old folks”.

  6. Donna – When I first saw that post of YF’s, I forced myself not to comment. But it bothered me so much, I felt I had to say something on it this morning. So I wrote that one thing Jesus did say was that His followers are to love each other, that the world would see Him through our love for each other. I added that the Bible goes on to tell us, in Ephesians 4…

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Then I commented that that hateful piece was something I’d expect to see from my anti-Christian friends.

Later, I saw that she’d deleted my comment, something she’s never done to me before. 😦 I was so hoping (& praying) that the Holy Spirit would show her how grievous her attitude is, & that she’d repent of it. Sadly, at this point in her life, she doesn’t seem to be teachable at all.

  7. Sounds like a good effort, Karen — it’s sad so much of it falls on deaf ears. I usually try my best to ignore the posts and make sure I’m providing a contrast in the things I post with regard to attitude and content.

  8. Detachment, Kim? Are you saying I should detach from YF (which I will probably so very soon), or was that unrelated to my comment?

I’m off to bed now, so I’ll see you all tomorrow. Goodnight, Fellow Wanderers!

  9. It was a nice Easter celebration. Really good.

    🙂

It was fun to see little Graham Harris run around with the big kids (he’s 14 mos). And they (4 & 6 yr old girls) played with him. Caden, (9 yr old boy) didn’t have time for any of them.
They hunted plastic Easter eggs that had candy in them.
