In communist Vermont, a mayor applauded when a diner took down a sign featuring bacon lest a Muslim be offended. We know the mayor would have outraged had a merchant taken down a sign featuring perverts lest Christians be offended. The interesting question is: What would have been his reaction if a Muslim had complained about a sign featuring perverts?

The convicted shooter in the Fort Hood massacre has written a letter to the leader of the Islamic State saying he wants to become a “citizen” of the caliphate, in the latest example of the terror group’s reach inside the U.S.
The letter from Nidal Hasan, obtained by Fox News, comes after two Americans reportedly died fighting for ISIS in Syria. Sources late Wednesday identified the second as Abdirahmaan Muhumed, of Minneapolis. Fox affiliate KMSP-TV in Minneapolis reported that Muhumed was killed in the same battle as Douglas McArthur McCain, who grew up outside Minneapolis in the town of New Hope and most recently lived in San Diego.
This, mind you, if from workplace violence. They need to grant him ISIS citizenship and kill him.
Michelle, he’s a prisoner just like the others. An American who works for the enemy is a traitor. However, there are extenuating circumstances. I knew a guy who worked with me. Had TS clearance. He was in the German army. An American citizen who was in Germany visiting his grandmother. The Germans drafted him and sent him to the Russian front. He says he met Der Furher. Anyhow, he survived the war, came home and went into the American army.
But the reason I came here was to comment on Obama’s comment about not having a strategy. Said the Pentagon was working on it.
I don’t believe that. One thing that is big with all the services is War Games. They game every possible scenario. The 9/11 attack is blamed on “lack of imagination”. One of the things they didn’t consider because Islam was “below their radar”. I doubt that anything catches them by surprised now. Some games can take weeks. I participated in one that took an afternoon.
Michelle, I was working with a commander (O-5). We were in a nuclear attack sub. We finished off a Soviet nuclear sub. The other threat was from a Whiskey (If I remember correctly). Ask your husband what we did. (I was not navy, so he ran the show.)
It always comes back to the dinner table with this guy.
The 75-year-old Pakistani immigrant convicted in Brooklyn of beating his wife to death because she served him lentils instead of goat should get the minimum sentence, his lawyer argued Wednesday — because the lack of Pakistani food behind bars will be a hardship.
“His inability to speak English and his inability to have Pakistani food will make his incarceration even more difficult than the average inmate,” defense attorney Julie Clark wrote in court papers seeking the minimum 15 years to life sentence for Noor Hussain.
But prosecutor Sabeeha Madni countered that Hussain should get the maximum 25 years to life, saying in court, “There are no mitigating factors. Not his age, not his inability to speak English and, certainly, not his dislike for the food in prison.”
Ricky — When people get offended and make changes over inconsequential things it minimizes the real problems discrimination can create. I will continue to eat my ham and cheese sandwich in front of my students.
” … Throughout his presidency, he has excelled at explaining what the United States cannot do and cannot afford, and his remarks Thursday were no exception. ‘Ukraine is not a member of NATO,’ he said. ‘We don’t have those treaty obligations with Ukraine.’ If Iraq doesn’t form an acceptable government, it’s ‘unrealistic’ to think the United States can defeat the Islamic State. … It’s time Mr. Obama started emphasizing what the United States can do instead of what it cannot.”
HRW, The real problems of discrimination are largely in the past, so we hear complaints about minutiae. The exception is Affirmative Action, which has made our large businesses inefficient and our federal, state and local governments incapable of doing very simple tasks. This leads to Donna’s point.
In 2014, the United States is able to:
1. Run a very inefficient tax system and print money to:
2. Bribe Democrat voters and donors; and
3. Promote perversion and the myth of global warming.
End of list.

Funniest snarky headline of the day (yesterday) seen online:
Semi-retired president to address something he saw on the news today about Ukraine at 4 p.m.

If an American citizen works as a mercenary for a group like ISIL, what happens to their citizenship if they’re captured by someone? Genuine question.

Is that what the Tail Hook scandal was all about back in the Navy?

Chas — The defense lawyer missed the point of jail — its deprivation. Here’s an other even sillier defense argument.
