Prayer Requests 8-20-14

Anyone have a praise or request they’d like to share?

And it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for the Gambia.

Psalm 51:1-15

¹Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

  1. There is work being done on the bridge. It is amazing. Actually the parts for a new bridge were already there, but discussion had been going on for months. So the framework now extends from one side to the other. We are coping. Our store had 900 kilos, a ton, of beef flown in this week.

  2. If you could pray for me today, I’m awaiting a call back from the doctor. I was prescribed a new med yesterday, took it last night and had a very hard time. During one of my many visits to the bathroom, I passed out and hit the tile floor with the right side of my face. I’ll be quite colorful soon.

Slight headache, entire face is swollen, can see out of my right eye but it’s hampered and I’m vaguely curious if I shattered my cheekbone–doesn’t really feel like it, but my face hurts from the jaw to the eyebrow. No dancing for me this morning . . . .

    Thanks.

  3. Please pray for the missionaries currently in The Gambia. They are facing some difficult decisions and situations. Right now there are 4 experienced missionaries here in the US for different reasons, leaving a small, somewhat inexperienced, slightly panicky group there. One of the experienced people had to leave suddenly due to a very serious health problem and that sent people into a tailspin.

  4. Still waiting for a return call from the doctor . . . but I’m able to sit at the computer, at least now, and hopefully will get some work done. Didn’t go to the real job.

As a point of reference, in the middle of everything, my husband brought a bag of frozen peas to act as an ice pack. Tricky to hold it in place on my face, which is why this morning I’ve been reading magazines held in my left hand, with my left eye while the ice pack helps.

Anyway, I felt well enough to start a load of laundry and tossed in the towel in which the frozen peas were wrapped last night. You’ll be interested in knowing the plastic is sturdy enough to go through the washing machine . . . I caught it before the dryer! 🙂

I’m just thankful I’m not seriously hurt. OTOH, I’m not keen on taking another dose of the meds tonight . . . .!

  5. It seems weird to ‘like’ the not so nice prayer requests.

    Praying for the above.

Please pray for my husband again. He had a very painful day and night yesterday. I don’t know how he is today as he is not home yet.

  6. Thanks for prayers. Halved the med and ate with dinner. 2.5 hours layer, no problems!

Doc said to take off tomorrow, too. I’m caught up on World Magazine, now!
