Prayer Requests 8-7-14

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo and the folks in PNG.

Does anyone else have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 38

¹O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.

22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

  1. Many are working and meeting with lots of folks to figure out what to do about the bridge. Some creative ideas. Pray that God uses this for good and to bring us closer to all of our neighbors. The collapse did not catch God by surprise and He will use it for His good.

  2. Please pray for continued recovery for my husband. Yesterday was a good day, regular extra strength Tylenol only once for painkillers. Still taking the anti-inflammatory. Needed more at night but slept well.

  3. If the engineers work as fast as they did on Upward Road in Henderson County, they can have another bridge in five years.
We built aircraft carriers in shorter time. But they are finished now. And they did a good job.

  5. We had a quick one built down across the Clearwater in Kamiah. But they forgot about the people up on the mountain and had to redo part of it to let them in. Cost a lot of money as they had to buy more land from the Tribe and bring down a lot of mountain.

  7. Donna, I posted several links on facebook. and did another link just now that shows the bridge formerly and then two days this week. Yes, Chas, they do have vehicles on each side for rides and landowners are now charging to wade across slightly down river.

  8. Nice link, Nancy, with great pictures. That gal was in my classroom this week doing a video and I spoke on why this is such a great place to teach!

  9. Thanks Jo, didn’t see any earlier on FB but I’ll check again. It’s smaller than I envisioned I guess — and more rickety!

Amazing it held out as long as it did.

(And I was just reminded of a park project in our area in which the groundbreaking was in 2004 — and it still hasn’t been developed)

  10. Thanks for the prayers per my request yesterday (regarding 3rd Arrow’s driving instruction). My conversation went fine with the instructor, and the situation appears to be resolved.
