Prayer Requests 7-15-14

Anyone have a request or praise they’d like to share?

Psalm 17

¹Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

14 From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

  1. Conflict with a friend over what was agreed upon with a puppy and what is not being fulfilled…feeling sick over the entire thing and it looks like we won’t be bringing him home….praying the Lord will heal hurt feelings in the knowing sometimes it is what it is and we just need to walk away….

  2. I’m crying. From Lindsay:

So many were praying for my son last week, I thought it was time to post an official update here. Shane is now six days post surgery and has not had a seizure since.

To give you an idea of what a miracle this is, Shane had never had more than 24–36 seizure-free hours together his entire life. A typical week involved approximately 14–20 gelastic seizures (often more) and 1–2 complex-partial seizures.

And we’ve had 0 this week.

This is not even touching on the cognitive, memory, and behavioral aspects of his condition, which also appear to be wholly resolved. Shane’s life is forever changed. I still can’t get over it.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. We serve a merciful God. If you’re interested in the bizarre, twisty-windy road that brought my family here, or if you’re curious about Shane’s rare condition, I blogged about it a few weeks ago here: http://www.lindsayafranklin.com/shanes-story.

  3. That was wonderful to hear, Michelle. My husband had a brother who ended up having to live in special hospitals/homes most of his life, because of seizures. He died in middle age. He was a wonderful believer, but had a rough life physically.

  4. God is good in His healing ways! He is worthy of praise for His realized and unrealized miracles! We know from His word that sometimes birth defects can happen so that He can receive glory when He corrects them.

  5. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Shane’s miracle. It sweetens our day and night to hear such good news.

I pray for Michelle and all who may be feeling discouraged over things not falling into place as they had hoped for. Please help them to see that You are making other arrangements for their good future.

Lord, I lift up Nancyjill and her family as they deal with dashed hopes over a promised puppy. Cute baby animals steal our hearts. I pray that You will comfort Nancyjill as she feels real grief over this loss. Please make sure that puppy is well loved and cared for all its life.

I pray for Your peace to be known in Israel. Help all those who are having their lives disrupted by missles and acts of warfare. Keep safe the innocents. Please bring salvation to those who have been reluctant to consider Christ as Messiah before. Help those in the nation such as Jews for Jesus to remain safe as they reach out with saving news of Jesus.

Lord, I also lift up the ministry of Christian Library International that is bringing Your word into the prisons of our nation. It is having a powerful impact. Thank You for letting those who have never known Jesus in any way except for a word spoken in vain. May a prisoner’s heart be turned to love Jesus this evening.

Thank You for the many calling and abilities You bless Your children with so that we can each play a part in Your kingdom work.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen
