  2. 😦 Our weather–rain, sleet, snow, cold, cloudy.

🙂 That is so relatively unimportant. Visited shortly with an acquaintance, who has lost two of his children. One died in a car accident; one by cancer. The one with cancer commented how unimportant all those things were, that he thought were so important before. We all rejoiced that God makes everything meaningful and how wonderful it is to be able to see our loved ones again some day.

  3. 🙂 😦 A long and very hectic week, but those can sometimes be good. And I’ll get a little overtime on my next check for it.

🙂 Finished the Easter story (thanks, Janice 🙂 ) Among those I interviewed were the parents of a teen (their eldest son) who was shot to death in our area just a month ago (drive-by, no arrests yet). They’re Christians and are struggling through it all. 😦 They said it’ll be a difficult Easter for them.

🙂 It felt good to sleep in (until 8) today, I was beat when I got home last night. I have an 11:30 appointment at the Apple store (still having trouble with my iPhoto on the laptop) and my disabled friend wants me to visit this afternoon, but I may have to cancel. Tomorrow will be a long day, we’re going to the early service then out to breakfast/brunch afterward — then my neighbor down the street has invited me over for a ham dinner in the afternoon.

😦 Interesting newsroom issue came up late yesterday (over a sexual assault story that was being edited) when the young reporter who sits next to me and our veteran city editor were going back and forth over how to use the terms “gender” vs. “sex.” She minored in feminism in college and insisted that the term “sex” refers to the physical definition but “gender” was fluid & and not a set thing, it depended on how the person identifies themselves socially. Our city editor is one of those old-school, no-nonsense types. So you can imagine how that conversation went. 🙂

  4. 😦 Shocked at Ann’s prayer request. I sat stunned in front of my computer when I read it.

🙂 Whole family coming to dinner tomorrow (except for the missing college kids). Everyone sharing a portion of the meal and the promise of a beautiful day means . . . God is good as always!

🙂 Both writing projects on “marinade,” but feeling relaxed about them.

🙂 Have finally felt free to do other things beside research and write–like visiting the doctor and purchasing some desperately needed clothing items . . .

🙂 Challenging work ahead, but it’s on rewrite and I have someone to help. Great relief.

    🙂 He is risen–tomorrow!

🙂 The man who is going to take over much of the work arrived today!
🙂 Shared the gospel today with some old friends. (See prayer request.)
😦 Friends who don’t know Christ.
🙂 God is faithful to give me the strength that I need when I need it.

  6. 🙂 Spent the week with my sister and her family in Alabama. We hadn’t been there since last summer, after her husband’s funeral in June. I think/hope our presence was a blessing.

🙂 Stopped at the dam on the way to their house and got tons of photos of waterbirds, particularly great blue herons. Also got lots of photos of mockingbirds and a few of bluebirds.

🙂 Got some good ones of the family, too.

🙂 We got there and back safely, and our older daughter is home for Easter break.

  7. 🙂 A great visit with friends we haven’t seen for almost 7 years. There 2 little girls are so precious, precocious and pretty. But they listened and obeyed mom & dad very well.

    :(No family home for Easter

😦 Bad cold that hit me again on Thursday

😦 Still not sure quite what’s happening with our dear daughter.

    🙂 Nap time

  8. 😦 Female friend and I went to Best Buy today, she was looking at cell phones. The clerk (probably a 25-year-old male) seemed to keep talking to “us” as a couple or something. “What plan are you on now (looking straight at me)?”

I kept saying, “we’re separate, ‘we’ are not connected … SHE’S looking for … ” Arrrg.

  9. 🙂 wonderful Easter celebration service today. Lots of glorious singing of the truth of Easter where I had to lift my hands in worship. Some little ones did a dance then some high school girls and guys. The message was on the proof of the resurrection.

🙂 🙂 Finally we ended the service by singing the Hallelujah chorus from the Messiah. WOW

  10. 😦 (but probably should be a 🙂 ) – R finally got a full-time job, with a landscaping company a couple of his friends work for. Since they don’t work much in the winter, except for snow removal, his hours until then will be 6a.m. to 6p.m., Monday thru Saturday. (I was hoping he wouldn’t have to work Saturdays.) . . .

😦 . . .Which means I’m back to babysitting 30 hours a week, in three mega-doses (see note below). I love my little guy with all my heart, but he’s an especial challenge right now, often acting out in an angry way.

~Note: By mega-doses, I mean the 30 hours are about 10 hours on Mondays (split between morning & evening) & Saturdays, & 10 hours split between Wednesday evening & Thursday morning.~

😦 R doesn’t start his job until sometime this coming week, I think. He was supposed to pick up Forrest yesterday morning (I was babysitting on my own, expecting him to come). He never showed up, & never called. Later he told Emily he didn’t come because he had an ear infection.

🙂 Chrissy is going to be able to help me at least two of those days, sleeping over a couple nights to be available for those early mornings, & will be able to help me most Monday evenings. So I’ll only be on my own with Forrest on Monday mornings. After a bad day with Forrest yesterday, that is quite a relief.

🙂 Had a lovely Easter / Resurrection Day with my family. Lee & I made it to the earlier service this morning, then picked up Chrissy a couple hours after that. Emily cooked a delicious dinner, & baked a Boston Cream Pie for dessert (at Lee’s request). Chrissy & I cleaned up. Lee actually had some time to relax. We all had a nice, relaxing day together.

🙂 He is risen. He is risen indeed!
