Prayer Requests 11-5-13

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 79

¹O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.

How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake.

10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

  1. I mentioned some time ago, that middle GD, Mary is pregnant. He’s due in January, and that Graham (her son) has fluid on the brain. But no one knew, at that point, what it meant. They were going to do further tests and analysis.

I received this from DIL yesterday. An e-mail sent to multiple addresses.
Needless to say, we have been praying for Graham.
Msg was sent from an I-phone and I cut and pasted this section without making any corrections:

The genetics counselor just called and said the blood test came back “low risk, normal range” and there is only a 1/10,000 chance of him having Down syndrome or another trisomy disorder. They still want to follow up about the ventriculomegaly, but the specialist didn’t seem too worried about it when we saw him, so I’m sure it’s fine.

  2. I mentioned Sunday afternoon that Becky’s oldest son, Caden went forward that morning and trusted Christ for his salvation. And that we were all very happy.

Caden is being baptized next Sunday and we are going over to Greensboro. There will be a reception-luncheon afterward at a clubhouse in Chuck’s development. I have no problem with that at all.
I just hope that the others, the girls, do not get an idea about going forward before they are convinced in their hearts, because of the possibility of a reception and all the attention that Caden is getting.

Though ever present, I think the probability is small. In a discussion a couple of years ago, Becky said she thought she could get Caden to make a profession of faith then, but she wanted to wait until he was convicted enough to want salvation.

Caden is 7.5 years old. A bit young, but Becky made her decision at that age, and it took.
Children who make decisions before the teens need much care and mentoring.

  3. Our then five year old in glasses professed faith and continues to amaze us with the things he knows of God. He is seven and a half and can count to four. But he can answer questions about the Bible that he has overheard in church, at home, in school, etc. Fun. Our little girl, now six, never has but she has very few answers about God, other than what she copies from her brother. I think she will be our toughest child. Even as the yelling continues here from our troubled twelve year old. God deals with us as individuals and calls us when He does.

  4. It is amazing how much little things can bug me. Right now I have ants showing up everywhere. They do not give up. Trying to nest in the hot pot I left out today, it was just swarming. And then found a couple on my table and then even on my chair here in my little office. Persistent. They are very tiny.
