Remember the couple we prayed for last fall with the chronic bad all day morning sickness? Well, baby was born in May and now this young couple have separated. Hubby is meeting with the fellow this morning. Please pray for wisdom and the words to say to encourage this young man that his wife and son need him and that he should do what it takes to live up to the vows he made. Please pray for us that we will be good examples to them and pray for them to see that they need to remain committed to each other.
Successful talk with the young man. He is going to counselling. Wife has started medication – possible bi-polar, or maybe bad post-partem or both. Please pray for them both. Thank you.
Kare: I’ll be praying for the family. I, too, had severe post-partum depression after the birth of my first child. I didn’t want to take medication b/c I was trying to breast-feed. I stumbled along for six months this way — which was hard on everyone — but L. did get about 8 months of medication-free breast milk! However, beginning an anti-depressant helped tremendously. When I had my second child, I began taking antidepressants as soon as she was born and it made all the difference. I didn’t experience any postpartum with her even though it’s supposed to be worse with every subsequent delivery after the first experience. I realize antidepressants are controversial to some people, but they helped me so much.
Thanks, Kare. She had a rough night last night — a lot of tossing and turning, moaning and crying until her fever broke sometime before dawn. She did only throw up the one time, thankfully. We kept her home from church, and she’s been doing well all day, like she wasn’t even sick! I’m hopeful that was the end of that, although the cold might hang on longer. Just glad the fever and throwing up business is done! Thanks for your prayers.
