Prayer Requests 9-2-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 23

¹ The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

  1. umm… I don’t mean to complain, but where is Psalm 22? It got skipped. Psalm 22 is a hard psalm to read as it dwells on the agony of Christ. I had heard a reference at a woman’s retreat that God dwells in our praises and could not find the reference for years afterwards. Asked the pastors and the elders and they agreed, but couldn’t tell me where the verse was.
Psalm 22:3 Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.

  2. Prayer for husband and boys today as they are off on a dangerous mission. They are going to retrieve our cow and steer from the people who lead the allegations. Turns out they had been undermining us for years, telling the children how misguided we were in many areas. Like the square dancing, telling them it was evil. Telling them Salt Lake City was run by demons and no Christian could go there, even though we lived there for two years. No man should touch a woman or girl, including dads and daughters, except his wife. Anyway, these are people we have loved and trusted for fifteen years. We have always considered them to be a ministry opportunity. He has often tried to gain control of our children and we have always told him to back off. We thought they were on board as far as understanding our children and their needs. Our children and my husband have donated upwards of twenty thousand dollars to them of free labor. Haying, firewood, etc. Last year they went from wanting three cords to desperately needing fifteen. This year they told the children a particular field they (the children) were haying, was specifically for the children. The children got eleven tons of hay off of it, nearly our full need for the winter. Then the people sold the hay to others and have none left for the children. Needless to say, the children are hurt and confused as are their parents (us). These are leaders in the church. We have since changed churches, of course. Anyway, safety for all involved. We would like to see reconciliation and peace as well, though we can never trust them with our children again.

  3. Yes, we are working with our pastor and the other elders and deacons on this situation.

Husband is back. The animals are where they ought to be. The people are angry with us and are maybe noticing that they killed the goose that lays the golden egg.
