Prayer Requests 8-24-13

Who would like to share a request or praise?

Psalm 16

1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

  11. Not in the pocket or bag or car or washer or dryer or hamper or under couch cushions.It’s been my experience, that if I don’t find something within a couple of hours, it is somewhere so weird I’ll never find it.

  12. A debit card is hard to be without — but I think now at least they can give you a temp card. Several years ago when I lost one, I had to wait a good week before a new one came in the mail, and it was surprisingly inconvenient.

  14. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for Saturdays and Sundays. You bless us with days of a change of pace and extra time to be in praise and worship and rest. You know us and our needs so well and rightly so since You made us, and did so in Your image. You give us the choice to follow Jesus each day. Help each of us here to be watching and waiting, always listening for Your instructions. Make us to realize the magnitude of Your love for us and our families. Help any who are having sadness as they watch the dwindling health of their loved ones. Give them strength to carry any burdens of suffering within their realm of service.

    Lord, if possible, I pray for Kbells to locate that lost debit card. Please give her a clear path of memory to help her recall any place she has not looked. Lord, I thank You for when this week I could not find my car keys and I discovered a hole in the lining of my purse and the keys were between the lining and the knitted material of the bag. Please help Kbells locate that card even if it has dropped into some such unexpected place. You know exactly what has happened to the card. Please make its whereabouts known.

    Thank You for blessing the Nest this evening with Mike’presence. Thank You for the love that sprang up freely to welcome him home.

  17. Last night BG said something that dragged up a past event that I am still struggling with. It has to do with losing the job and all the insecurities that caused me. I don’t think she was intentionally being nasty to me, I think she just didn’t filter what was on her mind before she said it.
    This house is small for 3 people. It is a brown brick box, in a typical 1960’s style. Before I lost the job we had been discussing buying a house, after I lost the job we decided to stay here at least another 6 months or so.
    The poisoned arrow really stung the mommy heart.

  19. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for a blessed Sunday at home in Your house here on earth with the body of Christ. May You constantly feel love radiating upwards to You wherever Christians are gathering over all the earth hour by hour.

    I pray for those here who are having struggles with family members, especially Kim and 6 Arrows. Lord, I pray that they would be given an extra dose of patience and keep the saying, “this, too, shall pass,” in mind to replace any damaged feelings. The young often say and do things that just don’t make good sense to us with our years of experience. I pray that these parents will be quick to hear and slow to anger as only you can give them the grace to be so in their reactions. I pray for Your peace to overcome obstacles that try to diminish harmony within the families. Please give a glimpse of how good things come to those who wait. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  20. Tonight, Forrest is sleeping over at his daddy’s place for the first time, without his mommy. Please pray for peace in his little heart, & that if he awakens crying in the night (which he does somewhat often), he will be easy for R to console.

  21. Heavenly Father,

    I lift up young Forrest to You for Your immediate help, comfort and protection at the first moment, and even before the first moment, of trouble or distress. Please help his father to feel the serious responsibility of being a good parent. I pray Forrest’s dad will recognize the miracle You have granted to him to be a dad. Please help him to live up to what You meant fatherhood to be. May he never be neglectful or mean and selfish in the treatment of young Forrest. Even if he is not Christian, I pray You will bless him with good sense to know how to take good care of all of Forrest’s needs. If for some reason he feels overwhelmed by tears or crankiness, please prompt him to call for help. You are our good God in Whom we place our trust knowing You want us to cast our cares on You. In the name of Jesus, Amen

  24. I am up in early morning with some stomach or intestinal bug or distress. Prayers would be appreciated. I have had something off and on for several weeks.

    The extra time awake has allowed extra time to pray 🙂
