Prayer Requests 7-31-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Wednesday, so please remember Gambia and those ministering there.

Psalm 136

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

10 To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

11 And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

13 To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

16 To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

17 To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

18 And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

19 Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

20 And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

21 And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

22 Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

23 Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

24 And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

25 Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  1. Due to the condition of the bridge next week we will begin petrol rationing. But God will use this for his glory, for His mercy endureth forever.

  2. Jo, I know something of what you are going through – we have a tough river crossing to supplies here.

Pray for complete healing for me. If you’ve noticed, I haven’t been around the past few days. That is because on Sunday I suddenly became violently ill. I was the sickest I have been yet (and I’m on my holidays 😦 ). This time, I was able to see a doctor and they think it was a case of food poisoning – not something hard to contract in this hot and humid season. I’m slowly recovering, but very weak and unsteady.

  3. Heavenly Father,

It is a good time to come to You in prayer as are all times. It is a different time where I am here than where the missionaries are in The Gambia and in PNG.

Lord, You know the individual needs of each of our dear sisters and also You are well aware of their communities needs. I pray for a good supply to come through for them. Help them to feel the good impact of their efforts today. May they feel vitally connected to the Vine today as branches that bear much fruit. Please give them extra energy when they run low. May the Holy Spirit guide their conversations, actions and thoughts as they engage with their mission field.

Thank You for Your myriad forms of assistance and helps in times of need. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

  4. Prayers to both of you. There is something special about people who will give up the comforts of home to go to a foreign country to share the message of Jesus. Thank you for blessing us with your presence here.

  5. Thank you so much for your beautiful prayer for me late last night on the prayer thread, Janice. I had a pretty good night’s sleep last night without too much trouble from my back. The ache lingers today, but is considerably milder than it was late in the day yesterday.

I echo Kim in her sentiments written above. Thank you.

  6. Still trying to find an answer concerning the troubled fifteen year old. He can not come home as long as Husband is not here as I can not watch him and the other ten. The other ten are not a problem. But as he sneaks around, trying to get various girls alone, it is important to have more than one pair of eyes as well as a strong male presence. Wisdom.

  7. I’ve had a backache, too, the past couple of days, & I don’t usually have back problems. (I do often have shoulder problems, though.)

Prayers for my sweet Chrissy, please. I’ve mentioned before that Chrissy has High-Functioning Autism (HFA, aka Asperger’s Syndrome). Part of HFA is a lot of anxiety & fear, especially in any area where they have to deal with people they’re unfamiliar with. And although, she is 21, her emotional age is more like 18 (delayed maturity is a characteristic of HFA).

Right now, she is so scared about her future, about having to get a job someday, about everything. I can’t help her. (If I could, if it were even possible, I’d protect her from this world, from the things that cause such debilitating anxiety. But I know that would not help her in the long run.)

Please pray for wisdom for us & for her (even more), & that she would turn her heart back to Jesus. Also, please pray against any suicidal thoughts she may have.

    Thank you.

  8. Please pray for procedures to help J&J to become parents will be effective. It’s a long and slow process with indefinite results, no guarantees despite major effort and expense.

Please, Lord, help them in whatever way is necessary for they will be loving parents. Give them peace during the waiting. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  9. Heavenly Father, please grant divine wisdom to Mumsee and Mike as they consider the course of action with the troubled and troubling 15 year old. Make a good way for Your light to shine a light upon the paths they should follow. You always know best.

I also lift up Chrissy to You. She is precious to her parents and to You. May she begin to peek around the corner of her anxieties and overcome her fears by the strength of her curiosity of what good things You have planned for her life because You love her so much. Open her heart to You and Your love again, Lord. Always I ask that Your will be done in Jesus’ name, Amen
