Who can we pray for today?
And as always, praises are good too. 🙂
Psalm 103:1-8
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
A praise to God for His faithfulness in leading me through my media fast last week. By His grace, I stayed off the computer the whole week, and used my time well in relationship-building with Him and my family. We got much accomplished, and drew closer to each other and the Lord. Third Arrow (age 15) said she thinks it was the best week she’s ever had in her whole life. Praise God!
Mumsee, your simple comment on the prayer thread the last time I posted on it (I think March 23), “Use your time well”, was a thought I returned to often last week. It had a profound impact on me, reminding me to not just eliminate something, but to REPLACE it with something good. Thank you for your loving admonition.
I feel like a new person this week. The fast was very cleansing, and I thank all of you who prayed for me in my absence. I am truly grateful for all of you and how God uses you in my life.
Love and blessings to you all, dear friends.

Glad to hear it Six.
Prayer here as we continue to try to live in but not of. The woman I sent to the shelter now says she has outstanding debt of nearly a thousand dollars to drug dealers….wish she would just tell the truth so it could all be dealt with.

Praying, Mumsee. I just got caught up on the prayer threads I missed last week. You and your hubby and the children, along with the other folks you mentioned, are all in my prayers.

Hello – some prayer updates, but first 6 Arrows – I have been unplugged from my computer for 2 weeks. I never realized how much I use it until I stopped using it on my trip to MI. But I filled up my time with so much other stuff I hardly missed it. (But I did miss all you WV folks.)
I prayed for many of you as you were on my heart and for the ongoing things I knew about. (Mumsee’s nest every day, AJ’s BP, 6 Arrows and Mr. Arrows’ sleep issues/hours. Did Mr. Arrows get back on day shift yet?, Pastor Roy’s job situation and KBells’s son. There were many other prayer requests as you were on my heart and Gambia and Ajisun and Phos on Wednesdays.
From my requests: My neighbors D & V’s twin grandbabies are now 5 months old and they still weigh less than 15 lbs, but they are both out of the hospital and back home. They seem to be in the clear now, Praise God! They are getting close to retiring up there (right now they come up on weekends) in the near future.
My neighbors P & R still need prayer. P Had a scary aneurysm in her head and was a very short time away from having a massive stroke. They repaired the blood vessel and she is almost back to normal. You can’t even tell she had brain surgery. Her husband, R. has completed 5 of 7 courses of chemotherapy for small cell cancer in his lungs and outside his lungs, on his spine and brain. He is also having radiation and they have been giving him daily injections to stimulate the creation of white blood cells. All things considered, he looks better than I thought he would at this point. The good news is last week’s scans showed the tumors shrinking and he still has 2 more courses to go. Praise God! The bad news is that he is at the point in the treatment that he feels awful. R & P are not churched. Pray for opportunities for me to be a witness to them, and also that the Lord would put other believers there to witness.
Neighbors B & S are elderly. S. just had knee replacement surgery on her R knee and it is coming along quite well. Praise God! B has congestive heart failure, but he’s hanging in there. He is on oxygen and is looking better that the last time I saw him last summer. He was in A-fib and they got his heart back into sinus rhythm and he seems to be stabilized fro now. (Praise God!!)
Mr. Klasko and I are also looking forward to the time when we can retire up there. His Mom is ready for us to take over the house so she can move into something in town that’s smaller (The house is a mile down the dirt part of the road.) She is 80. Our son has to have a job that pays a living wage before we can leave this area. (Pray for his prospects to improve. He is hopeful that a door might be opening for him within the next couple weeks. It’s looking good so far.) We are waiting on God’s timing for it all.
My visit with Mom Klasko was wonderful. We had a great time and were busy every day. She had a list for us/me. We accomplished all but one thing on the list and had a lot of fun together. Praise God!!

husband is off to the clinic with his knee. One of the problems with not having anybody here to help is that he has to go by himself. Well, he took a couple of children with him. They told him if it was worse, he would need to go to the hospital for further work. He drove twenty five minutes east. He will have to drive a hour and some west to get to the hospital. Then back home. Life gets complicated.

Klasko, thanks much for your prayers. Mr. Arrows is not on days yet (and likely will not be for a while yet, as there has been more turnover again, and one or two more leaving within the next week or two). However, there is slight improvement in his work hours. He still starts at 4:00 pm, but his shifts typically tend to be about 11-12 hours now, rather than 14 or even 15 hours as they were for much of January and February, and approximately the first half of March. It helps that there are still a couple hours of darkness left when he gets home now, and he gets some good quality sleep before sunrise. Also, 3rd Arrow covered the master bedroom windows with thick tagboard, and that has blocked a good deal of light coming in the windows in the daytime, giving hubby a much better, darkened, sleep environment for the rest of his sleep hours.
For myself, I found last week while I was not on the computer that my own sleep improved. I think my screen time late at night after the kids are in bed probably disrupts my sleep rhythm to some extent if I stay on the computer right up to bedtime. I plan to try at least a 30-minute screen-free quiet time before my own bedtime to see if that helps my sleep, and a lot less computer time in general throughout the day, as I noticed that being media-free last week really enhanced my daytime energy.
BTW, everybody, I too thought of and missed all of you WV folks. I trekked across the country (okay, not literally, but in my prayers) for six days last week, starting by praying for our West Coasters, and heading east day by day, with Wednesday dedicated to our out-of-country friends in the Gambia, Canada, Czech Republic…before returning for the eastern half of the U.S. on Thursday and Friday. There are a few of you that I don’t know where you live, but I mentioned you in my prayers when I thought of you. Most of the rest of you, though, I know which state you live in — yes, I know, I haven’t told you in which state I live 😉 — and I picture you on a map whenever I read one of your comments or think of or pray for you and yours and other people you have mentioned in prayer requests.
