Prayer Requests 2-28-13

Who has a request or praise today?

Psalm 150

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. My son just left for school in a bad mood. He doesn’t think he is ready for a poem and a Bible verse he is suppose to have memorized. Please pray that he stays calm and doesn’t get in trouble and that the poem and verse come back to him.

  2. Still have some significant issues to deal with here, but yesterday was a day of repentance on the part of some and it was healthy and healthily received. Continued prayer for people’s hearts. Thanks.

  3. KBells, It is very challenging to have a child with certain disorders. Yes, we have several with that and they have their moments. I suspect, besides the obvious of God taking care of us to see that we all survive, the facts that there are several and we home school and we are out here in the middle of nowhere and two parents are home (still a spread as there are eleven of them and two of us) and I am an ogre help out. We just took our only public school child out of the system as he was at the maximum growth there for now. We expect to see a turnaround in a few months. Currently, it appears he will be leaving fifth grade and going back to third at home for a while. Too many old habits need to be broken. Because there are several oppositionals and several others with different issues, they are peer pressured in a positive way to get over themselves. We have a system where the people who cannot handle their own issues stay home with me while dad takes the others to fun places. Staying home with me appears to be rather boring to some, I cannot understand that.

It is difficult, there are ways to make your life easier in the long run but they are difficult at first. Keep at it! Enjoy your gift!

  4. He did pretty well today. He passed off the Bible verse with a B and the teacher gave them more time on the poem. We are going on two weeks without a serious incident.
Mumsee is it common with ODD kids to have periods of calm like this?

  5. hmmmm, I hope that did not come across as “my children are soooo good…” My children learn early on that I will not tolerate disruption of my peace, it is in their best interest to be calm. They have a very selfish mom.

  6. I’m just wondering if the better behavior is a breakthrough and we should continue in the direction we are going or if this is just a calm before the next storm.

  7. One does wonder those things. It does keep you on edge, that is for sure. It takes a lot of hard work to help a child get past his stuff. We just had a thousand steps forward, three hundred steps backward moment a couple of weeks ago. But they rebound much more quickly than they used to. Keep at it. If you are consistent and don’t let him get away with his stuff, he should make it.
