Prayer Requests 2-6-13

What can we pray about for you today?

And it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Gambia and the workers ministering there.  🙂

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

  1. There is a lot of sickness amongst the team right now – would appreciated prayers for health. Also for a patient who was badly burned on the feet, and is in danger of getting serious infection.

  2. I would like to ask for prayer for my parents. My mom fell again and needed stitches on her head. She drinks too much and gets disoriented. I would say Ann would understand the most what I am talking about. They both need to actually read the scriptures and have the relationship to Christ they need. They are church goers.

  3. So many painful issues to pray for! May God intervene in each one of your families, & give you all wisdom & insight, as well as peace of mind & heart.

As for me, you may remember that I have been weaning myself off of the anti-depressant, Cymbalta (a particularly difficult one to “withdraw” from). I have just recently switched from the low dose I was down to (10mg, down from the original 60mg dose) to St. John’s Wort. I know there is controversy about whether or not it is effective, but I do have a friend who says it works well for her. We’ll see.

Most of all, I’m praying for God’s deliverance & healing.

Most of the time, unless I haven’t slept well (like earlier this week), I do fine & feel normal. But I am having trouble with handling frustration & stress. I feel so bad & guilty when I over-react in my frustration!

But that leads me to asking for God’s forgiveness & for His help.

  4. Kathaleena: I’ll be praying for you and your mom. My own mother has had a number of unexplained falls. So far, she has been very lucky and hasn’t broken anything, other than knocking out her two front teeth a couple of years ago. It is very difficult to have a loved one who drinks too much. May God comfort you.

  5. Prayers requested for my brother, M., his wife, K., and their two boys. They have a very tumultuous marriage and it currently looks like they are headed for divorce. Their boys are 15 and 10. I am not close to them and don’t know what they believe, but am hoping GOd would use this difficult time to draw them to a saving relationship with Him.

  6. My daughter says she’s feeling fine (thanks for prayers), but her roommate, Jenna, is in remission from cancer and she’s the one who tore her ACL and shattered her knee cap on Monday. Jenna took a midterm today and both she and my daughter have midterms on Friday. Lots of stress and of course their room is on the second floor, so Jenna is living in the living room. I’ll be there tomorrow to survey the situation. Crazines!

And so very hard for the girls.
