Prayer Requests 1-22-13

What should we pray about today?

Psalm 136:1-5

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

5 To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  3. From Liam’s Daddy this morning: Thank you all for your words of encouragement and prayers. It means so much to Melissa Shiach and I. We have seen God at work so many times throughout this whole ordeal. We talked with the surgeon yesterday and he said 100% Liam needs surgery. Now one of two things will happen during surgery. First he could open him up see the two spots clearly remove the spots and Liam would be cured. The other thing that could happen he could open him up and not be able to clearly see the affected area or be able to totally remove it all. If that is the case they would have to remove a good portion of Liam’s pancreas about 95%. Melissa and I would like to ask you to join us in praying for the surgeon who will be doing the surgery Dr. Dicken please pray that God will direct his hands and his mind as many of the decisions will have to be made once Liam is on the operating table. The other thing we would ask you to pray for is that the spots would be in a place where they could be easily removed and that Liam could be cured. Thank you again so much for walking this with us. Melissa and I pray for all of you and your families that God would bless you.

  4. Heavenly Father,

The sunset was so beautifully orange just a little while ago when I was out. Thank You for colors and eyes and brains to perceive those delights that add pleasure to our days.

Lord, I lift up all those who are contemplating an abortion this day. Please help them to have a better understanding of life and how once it is conceived it is a real human being who is meant to become a beautiful child and a person to carry forward Your image and give glory to You. Help them to know that just because the laws of the land and certain politicians promote abortion it does not mean it is right to do. I pray for all who are thinking of going that route to be encouraged in some way or form to go to a pregnancy resource center, be counseled and see an ultrasound of their baby in the womb. I pray the ones faced with the decision will receive both emotional support and financial support to help them with their pregnancy and the upbringing of their child. Please encourage those who have had abortions in the past to know that You offer forgiveness and that if they truly put their faith in Jesus that they will get to see the aborted child in heaven. Thank You, Abba, for the way You love those who are sinners before they even think of loving You and that You offer love and forgiveness to all who would believe and put their faith in Jesus.

Lord, I pray for President Obama and his family to have good health, and success according to Your will for their lives. If any of them are not saved then I pray You would let the Holy Spirit get right to work in their hearts. You know where they stand according to understanding of Your word and whether or not they pick and choose verses to their liking to live by and neglect others that they dislike. I pray You will fully open their eyes, ears, hearts and mouths to realize the love You have for them and how they can advance our nation through Your good prescription for the best way to do life. I pray that their example can lead the way in promoting peace in our nation between the races, the classes of people, the political parties, the nationalities, the different religions, etc. of our nation. I pray for no more attitude of divide and conquer. Please, Lord, may our President and his family lead from a platform of seeking unity with liberty and freedom for all.

Please, Lord, may this be a day of special blessing upon the marriage of Troy and Jodi. If they are in need of forgiveness to each other, please make a crack in the armour they have put on for battle. Soften their hearts toward each other. May they each do something nice for their spouse today. Help them feel a new cohesiveness that they have not felt for some time. Please take away any feelings of being unloved and neglected on either side. May they enjoy the warmth of holding hands and seeking Your favor through prayer. Bless them today, Lord, with love like You had in mind for them when they joined together as husband and wife.

Thank You, Lord, for bringing Liam this far along on the path to healing. Bless his doctor, Dr. Dicken, with firm knowledge of what needs to be done to get Liam’s body in proper working order. Thank You that there is medicine available for those without a fully functioning pancreas. Thank You that although my brother developed diabetes at age two that he is soon to be age sixty. When we were young his life expectancy was only forty years so Lord I thank You for the continuing advances. Only You know what will be best for Liam. We trust in Your provision for his health and well-being over the long haul. We hope that the spots will be easily identified and removable…that is our best hope given our knowledge this day. Please ease the anxiety of the parents. May they feel that lifting that only comes from feeling the support of prayers. There is nothing else like that. You are so good to make this supernatural way of support for people going through tough times.

Lord, there are so many in need of prayer today. Especially I pray for the lost who do not know Jesus. I pray for an awareness to come over them—a breeze that carries Your word into their lives. Make a new way when the old ways have not worked to turn their hearts to You.

Thank You for listening as we fill Your ears with petitions and intercessions. Thank You for AJ who works so hard to keep this site maintained. Bless him and his family this day. He brings glory to You every day as he posts scripture and encouragement for us all. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. We have a semi-official diagnoses for problems we are having with our son. Kid. His Pediatrician thinks it sounds like Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Not sure what caused it or what to do about it. One thing the Dr. did say was that if we decided to try a child Psychiatrist be prepared to have control of the situation taken away so we will not be going that route.
