Clear Contrasts

Could the stark differences between political parties be any clearer than this? I don’t think so. For me, the choice is obvious.

The links below are from a site that I highly recommend to anyone who is pro-life.  http://www.lifenews.com/

“Republicans at the 2012 GOP convention approved yet another solidly pro-life platform on the issue of abortion, which retains the language supporting a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution that has been a part of it since 1980.”

“Faithful to the “self-evident” truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion or fund organizations which perform or advocate it and will not fund or subsidize health care which includes abortion coverage. We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity of innocent human life. We oppose the non-consensual withholding or withdrawal of care or treatment, including food and water, from people with disabilities, including newborns, as well as the elderly and infirm, just as we oppose active and passive euthanasia and assisted suicide.”

Democrats on the other hand….

“Democrats at the 2012 Democratic National Convention are set to approve a platform today that is unambiguously pro-abortion and opposes any effort whatsoever to stop any abortions. The platform also calls on forcing Americans to pay for abortions at taxpayer expense.”

“The Democratic Party has already turned back efforts by pro-life Democrats to moderate its pro-abortion position and add any language to its platform showing it welcomes Democrats who oppose abortion. As LifeNews has reported, the Democratic National Committee has officially rejected an effort by pro-life Democrats to get the party to include them in its platform that calls for keeping unlimited abortions legal and paid for at taxpayer expense.”

Like I said, clear contrasts. Maybe if one party wasn’t so beholden to the money provided by abortion groups, and don’t kid yourselves, that’s blood money, they might be less inclined to always side with the groups who end lives before they ever have a chance to really begin. It’s sad, and a great shame upon our nation.

UPDATE

Well abortion is most certainly in the Dem platform, God however? Yeah, not so much. Looks like He has been edited out. Faith is still there, but only one paragraph, but references to God have been removed. I hope the folks at CBN just missed it and it is there and this is inaccurate, but yet I’m not really surprised if it’s true.

  1. Karen, it’s only one reason. There is no reason to vote for a Democrat.
You can’t vote for the man, as strange as it seems. A good guy like heath Shuler becomes one of them when he crosses the Potomac.

  2. The last Democrat I had anything good to say about is now a Republican. I remember telling someone when he was running for governor that Artur Davis was “Okay for a Democrat”. 🙂

  3. Watching the DNC and it is so amazing to me that almost nothing they say is actually true. Obama didn’t provide millions of jobs. He didn’t save the auto industry. He didn’t make health care cheaper. He didn’t clean up the environment. He didn’t improve America’s image in the world. And on and on and on. I think the biggest contrast has to do with a love of truth and a willingness to face reality.

  4. I will say (as I’m watching the convention tonight): Michelle still has awesomely toned arms. And it was a good speech, though she said one thing (about how her husband sees no divisions in America) just hit a somewhat dishonest note, I thought. More than many presidents, he strikes me as someone who sees a very strong line.

Ah, “no such thing as us and them” — I see that the commentators picked up on that very same line. So there you go.

The abortion issue is what forced me out of the Democratic party in the late 1980s. More and more it seemed that there was no room provided for a pro-choice vote. Despite the fact that so many leading liberals were once pro-life, mind you.

  5. Did Michelle mention in her speech about Barack’s grandmother hitting the glass ceiling over and over again, that she was the vice president of the bank of HI? I just had to change the channel…I couldn’t watch it any longer?!
