What do you plan to do with the extra hour tomorrow night?
I heard a talk show host discussing DST. He said the powers-that-be extended DST to after Oct 31 so children could trick-or-treat in daylight, but most children waited until it was dark anyway, so now we get them at our door at 9PM.
I hope Congress can finally put the semiannual clock change away for good. I’d rather have Standard Time year ’round, but I’d settle for 12 months of pretending the day is longer.
I would rather switch the clocks, Peter. The DST issue is a very good one for people to realize we are a big country with many different experiences. It was the reason the first leaders wanted states to decide so many things. Whether you live north, south, east or west or are in the middle of the country, sunset and sunrise are at very different times. I do not find the change too onerous myself. I have suggested a change in when our children’s school did state tests on the Monday after the time change. I don’t know that they took that advice. It does take a bit to adjust to the change. It also takes a bit to adjust to the seasonal changes of hot or cold etc.
I heard that somewhere, Michelle. I think China is the same. If we were all one time zone, would be based on Washington, DC or Chicago or LA? And would Hawai’i and Alaska be included?
Good afternoon. It was as a busy morning at the market and then at the bank for a couple of hours. The weather is on hold at perfect for fall. Son’s sunset at the coast is earlier than ours here, but of course, so is sunrise. I like having a bit more light at the end of the day.
The memorial service for my friend was this morning. I held it together until a friend surprised me with a hug. She had flown in from FL. We held each other and sobbed. Such a somber gathering. Husband and I didn’t hang around afterward…too overwhelming 💔
Took the girls for their spay surgery yesterday. Things ran late, so they had to spend the night. ☹️
It was too quiet without them tearing around the house half the night.

Did you know that Russia is all one time zone?
It’s based on Moscow time, which means Siberia mostly runs during the night!

A beautiful day here once again.
