Good morning. It has been raining, but the temperatures are not too bad. The biggest challenge is figuring out how to dress properly for outside and inside. Layers are a must. Assisted living places can be so warm.
We watched the World series after being drawn in by having some big Brewers fans staying here. I so enjoyed watching them play. It also brought back memories of playing baseball with the siblings and neighborhood children. Every call reminded me of the fights that broke out about whether it was a ball or strike; if we were safe or out. Those were the days when children organized the games on their own. My grands would be surprised that we weren’t all in the organized sports they enjoy.
Good morning, Friends. We’ve not had rain for two weeks which seems unusual this year. We expect it to roll in for the weekend. Another beautiful fall day for today.
Those were wonderful times, Kathaleena. We were often playing touch football in the neighborhood this time of year. We had pine cone battles and built huts in the woods. Backyard baseball was common along with day long monopoly games on a neighbor’s porch. We had a few choice trees to climb, too.
Morning! Tis a beautiful beginning of this day gifted to us! Coolish sweater weather.
Oh those delightful days of playing outdoors with neighborhood friends. Sweet memories we cherish. We were a very tight knit community and to be blessed with connection still is truly a gift. Some of us remain and the passing of the others stung a bit. They always have a place in our heart❣️
My best friend from childhood came to my brother’s funeral from AL. I thought she might drive over. She was maid of honor at our wedding and made our cake. What I did not expect was that she’d contacted the man who, as a boy, lived down the street and threw a rock at me and broke off a piece of a permanent lower front tooth. I had avoided him all these years. We ended up hugging and son got a photo of the three of us since my friend asked fot one. The fellow lives not far from my brother’s home. Never too late to get right with people. My brother told me that they guy had thrown his (my brother’s) new cowboy hat in the mud so he had avoided him, too. My friend probably did not know about that 🙂
Does anyone remember when the Seattle Pilots moved to Milwaukee? And it’s not the first time Milwaukee had a World Series title. The 1957 Milwaukee Braves beat the Yankees in 7 games.
