  1. I think today is the first day I have ever made muffins with store bought blueberries, although I may have way back when in Home Economics. I can’t remember anymore. They are delicious, however, and more healthful than some other things my husband likes to eat. Anything with blueberries is his favorite. We will be off to do a performance at a local festival and then to a graduation party. The summer is surely galloping by!

  2. I know. I can’t believe it’s the second week of August already.

My poor sick kitty is doing a little better after getting some super expensive canned food and some medicine. She has to go back Monday for an antibiotic.

Getting the samples they want has proven difficult.

I don’t wanna lose another kitty, so I will figure it out.

The vet bills of course pile up quickly. Yikes.

  3. Morning. It’s gonna be another warm one…rain is supposedly on the way Wednesday!

A day of cleaning and organizing this place. Then to find a new book to read…I seem to be running out of ideas and there are so many unread books out there!!

Praying kitty gets well soon and the vet bills magically shrink…vet bills are no fun…and keep rising or so it seems.

Now I’m hungry for blueberry muffins!!

  4. I used to make a buttery blueberry cobbler that was my favorite dessert. Muffins are great, too.

So sorry to hear about the sick kitty. Thankful to know improvement can occur. It was a little over a year ago that Miss Bosley passed. Considering what all happened this year, her passing at that time was a blessing.

Earlier there were emergency vehicles in our neighborhood. I finally could tell they were dealing with something at the home where my former high school English teacher lives. I wondered if it was for her. I really don’t even know if she died previously. There is no contact between neighbors around us for years now. Sad.

Sitting outside and trying to have ‘quiet time’ with God. What do I hear? A jet rumbling overhead, a leaf blower in the back yard of an across the street neighbor, then a car alarm started blaring, and now I hear a loud and fast motorcycle buzzing al9ng, now crows and other birds join the chorus with more jets rumbling since we are under a flight pattern for the Atlanta airport. Now a car on the street. The car alarm is again going off. Poor people! We do have a train track behind the houses across the street so I can’t wait to add that. LOL

  5. Janice – My beloved Heidi died last April. She was always attached to me, and me to her, but especially in the years after Hubby’s death. She was such a wonderful comfort and loving companion. (Nightingale said that we were “joined at the hip.” 🙂 )

Although her death was heartbreaking, and I still miss her, and can burst into tears now and then, I am grateful for the timing of her life and death. She lived a full 15 and 1/3 years, and died at the time that my name had been put on the list for the senior housing apartments in town. They do not allow dogs, and I could not have parted with her, so this timing was perfect. As God’s timing always is!

  6. Yay!

    I got a poop sample.

It’s just one of the small pleasures in life that make me happy….

Going to the vet tomorrow to turn it in, and get the antibiotic shot.

  7. AJ, so funny in reading that because again I have received one of those Cologuard samplers unsolicited in the mail from my insurance company. My first thought about your comment went to personal, lol

Kizzie, that is so true about God having the perfect timing on things. Why do we worry and fret instead of trusting in Him? My Sunday school lesson was all about trusting Him and many supportive scriptures were given.

  8. I found a postcard this morning from our vet’s office that had Miss Bosley’s photo on it. Not long after showing it to Art, I opened the carport door and there stood Pumpkin waiting for breakfast. God’s timing!

  9. Hot and smoky here…miserable outdoors. Cool inside!

I giggled reading your post Aj…it’s the little things eh?! I recall looking at my vet with astonishment when he asked for a urine sample from Pip…and just how am I to do that??!! Didn’t happen😂
