We have a hint of autumn this morning!!! 52 degrees and crisp fresh air abounds! A day of reprieve from oppressive heat… we will take it with much gratitude!!!
My husband is not a fan of the cold. He asked me if there was snow on the ground when I got up. I like the cool. You can cover up more, but when it is hot there is little relief. Yes, I am grateful, too, NJ, I am with Jo, too, about doing only what is necessary in the heat.
My husband will perform for a National Night Out and therefore we will miss our own community’s gathering. Do any of you attend those? The one near us had a medical helicopter and other safety vehicles to check out among other things. What does any of your communities do?
East coast was up early, but these days have enough work to feel like I am employed full time.
This afternoon we are having a thunderstorm. The temp is a very pleasant 74°. I am enjoying this weather since I don’t have to drive in it.
The school systems near us that did not start yesterday started today. It appears they are all trying to sync which seems good.
Son asked me last night to teach him to make the sugar cookies I used to make when I made them to help promote my brother’s pharmaceutical sales of prescription athletes foot medicine. I made giant foot cookies and piped colored frosting to outline the foot and write out the product name. They were such a hit in the offices he visited. I got up at 4 a.m. to make them fresh for his appiintments.

Son found an old resume that had all my employment history. Sugar cookies were obviously more important than all the accounting years.

Love the idea of those cookies. How fun! I have done lots of cut-out sugar cookies, but never feet.

They were really giant foot cookies so I had large special platters with covers that I bought from Sam’s for him to transport them in.

I took a large pile of sugar cooki re dough and flattened it out and shaped the foot with individual toes. It was very creative and fun.
