  1. Good morning.

Our local paper always had an employee who wrote the obits. She still writes for the paper a personal column and often does obits of those she personally knows. She is in her mid-eighties. Newspapers also had engagement and wedding announcements with photos. Those were written by family, however. How I miss many of these personal articles. We still get the divorce and wedding license lists. The papers hang on. However, as my daughter just informed us (and I have experienced myself) it gets more and more difficult to renew, get ads etc. as offices close or hours are lessened. It is all a death knell. That makes me sad. I suppose it is like the closing of our malls and local stores. Life goes on, of course, and we all adjust.

  2. Beautiful day here. Sunny, about 82 for the high.

Just got my lawn edged and mowed. Looks great. It had gotten a little out of hand. The neighbor kid mows, but doesn’t weed whack or edge, and I just can’t physically fo it anymore. Isaac works OT every week, and I no longer own a mower anyway.

I guess this is just another stage of life. 🙁

  3. We had another rain shower come through last night…glorious!

Aj your spiffing up the lawn reminds me husband can now get out there and spiff up ours! The dry land prohibited us all in concern a spark could start a fire!

With age comes the ability and desire of doing house projects. My younger days I completed lots of DIY projects. Now I want to hire someone but I don’t want to pay their crazy prices!
