  1. Indeed, it is. And they said it would never last. Probably wouldn’t have without the Lord. Grateful.

Thankful Cheryl’s eyesight is also better. It should get better yet, of course.

My husband is supposed to perform at a community part this evening. I believe they will end up inside the local VFW because it is supposed to rain. That’s fine. It is a nice venue also. The children don’t get to run and play, however, as they can in the park.

  2. Happy Anniversary to Ralph and Kathaleena! Always good to prove wrong the predictions about a marriage that won’t be lasting. The naysayers were eternally wrong about what God brought together!

The weather is perfect today in the eighties with low humidity. We get the return to muggy tomorrow afternoon.

Thankful for the success of Cheryl’s surgergies!

  3. today will be a long day of driving but first must water my new trees

when I married I had been to few weddings so didn’t think of getting pictures of my grandmother and her sisters which I have always regretted. Recently I reached out to my sister and she found some. What a delight

  4. Morning! And a very blessed happy anniversary to Kathaleena and Ralph!

Thankful for the success of Cheryl’s surgery and for His answered prayers…He is so so good to us through the highs and lows…He is always there!

So far we have escaped the huge hail falling from the skies around here…although that means we haven’t seen any moisture either! It was thundering last night off in the distance and we pray that no lightening hits these trees. Trusting the Lord who controls the weather…and everything under the sun…and clouds!

Getting things together for our journey tomorrow and praying the Lord will author every word that proceeds from my lips…as always. Driving on the backroads across the country instead of the intestate I am looking forward to indeed!

  5. Praying it will be a wonderful journey, NJ. I could use help with my words tomorrow, too. I will be visiting a difficult relative. Not that I don’t need help from the Holy Spirit every day for my words.

  6. Wishing to hear something from Kare. Does anyone have contact info? She has not posted on Facebook since near the end of May. Also, we have not heard from Cheryl lately. I know free minutes are sparse for caregivers.

  7. Praying over you Jo as you journey in the car…His protection and guidance on the road.

And I do pray for us all in our responses to those about us…sometimes it is so hard but relying upon His divine hand over our minds hearts and lips is so essential. Covering you in prayer Kathaleena..

Janice every morning you and brother are mentioned to our Lord in His care over you family. It is so exhausting at times and I pray His strength is imparted to you as weariness tries to set in…

  8. Thanks, Janice. I’ve been lurking on here, but mostly late at night when if I do post it likely won’t be seen. (And BTW I posted rejoicing in NJ’s Mother’s Day contact from her daughter, and I don’t think it posted. But that news brought me to tears.)

Life has been a bit crazy the last couple of months. I took a trip down south in April–at my husband’s urging–because the brother I adored as a little girl, who walked me down the aisle 15 years ago, is descending into dementia (he’s only 70) and I wanted to see him and check on some family situations. And while I was out of town my husband didn’t do well, and ended up almost a week in the hospital (more than an hour from home . . . that’s another story) as soon as I returned.

So the last two months have been trying to regain lost ground, and I think we are there. But I did more or less “lose” a couple of months in there! For now we are managing symptoms, but I’m constantly aware that at some point these “low times” may be our everyday normal, and so I take as a gift the weeks in which he is doing better. Most days we get out for one or two walks around the neighborhood (and most days I get out for a longer walk by myself); otherwise he doesn’t leave the house except for medical appointments and occasionally for church (he got to evening services the last two weeks, but those were the first in two or three months), and because of his medication I am now the driver when he has a medical appointment.

I’ve also been trying in vain to get up to see our daughter and the grandkids. Between sickness at their house (which I dare not bring home to my husband) and my husband’s limitations meaning for weeks I couldn’t leave the house for longer than an hour or two, that has been impossible. We are hoping that kids and grandkids can come for a visit in August; I may be able to travel in July. We haven’t seen any of them since a couple of days in November.

  9. Oh, and Janice, I think I missed some news in there at some point about what happened in your brother’s life and health, but I have followed updates the last couple of months and prayed for you and for him.

  10. Happy Anniversary, Ralph and Kathaleena!

Cheryl, I too have lost some time – the month of June!

I have been lurking now and then and praying as I’m on here. I had a minor 30 minute surgery on June 1st which turned into a 5 hour ‘real’ surgery as the doctor nicked my intestine, so they had to call in the on-call general surgeon to go in and check that things were fine – she did end up stitching where the intestine was nicked (thankfully it didn’t go all the way through). So I’ve been recovering and then catching up on all the yard/garden work and helping to build my greenhouse out of old windows. Biopsies should be back next week.
