Morning. Cloudy and cooler today. Taking Pip in for her shots and trying out a new calming pill for her. She is the most reactive dog we’ve ever known when it comes to going to the Vet! She growls and yelps and flails. We have to muzzle her…and she is about the sweetest dog we have ever known too! Poor thing…
Well we survived. The new vet tech has a dog who has anticipatory reactive behavior so it went so much better. And the new chill pill worked great! She did scream like a banshee when they gave her the shots though!
Janice the Hoyer lifts can be intimidating at first but they do work well for transfers! Praying for you ❣️
What do people do when they have no one getting things straightened out for them in these situations?
Bro has been getting regular sweetened and salted meals, all against his medical needs of restricted diet, since Friday. Input twice before by nurses has not worked. Finally I talked to kitchen supervisor and got it worked out this afternoon (we hope).
The room toilet was clogged. As God would have it I happened upon two ladies here from corporate ownership (while I was doing rounds looking for a bathroom). They asked if I needed anything. I mentioned the need of an unclogged toilet. Housekeeping came immediately with a plunger. It did not work. Guy sid a request would be made for maintenance. No one ever came. On another round looking for a bathroom, the corporate lady spotted me and asked if it had been fixed. I explained about waiting for maintenance. By the time I got back to the room it was fixed!
What an ordeal Janice! Praying for compassionate and competent care for brother. Keep a log of things not in order such as diet if they neglect his specified requirements. That is vital for a diabetic I might look into a nanny cam in his room if allowed. My friend with Parkinson’s has one in her room and her husband can access on his phone to ensure she is ok…just a thought. She also wears a watch alarm in case she falls which happens more and more
I hope your days are going well. That was some scary weather for many. We didn’t have it, thankfully. It will be pretty nice today for us.

Good afternoon. Learning all about new ways to do life. A hover lift out of bed onto a shower bed.

Uses one for my father in law Janice.
The more you use it, the easier it gets.
Saves your back too. 🙂

I could tell some horror stories about some of those places. You brother is blessed to have you, Janice. I pray he realizes it!
