I’m not sure why anyone needs to yell at Massie to reveal names. The names are redacted because of Bondi. For me, the interesting thing about the files is the conferences and conversations among the academic, finiancial and political elite about mass society control. Its obvious they feared a French Revolution, Red Decade or 60s student revolt type scenario given the vast disparities of wealth. They cited left wing criticism of consumers approvingly. Essentially they said left wing critics were correct but it was actually a good thing and they should work to make it better. One email commented that they should thank Jay Z for providing the distraction and promoting mass consumption so the masses wouldn’t revolt. Put another way, they read 1984 and Brave New World and viewed it not as a warning but as an owner’s manual.
Another interesting side note to the files is the presence of the founder of 4chan. Qanon and Pizzagate both orginate in the murky world of 4chan — one wonders if those in charge of 4chan fed the stories to create a conspiracy theory narrative so no-one would take the files seriously when they did emerge. An attempt at a counter-narrative so to speak. A bit weird but at this point anything is possible.
US steel production is actually lower than it was in 2019 – 2021. It’s been floating around the 80 million tons mark for the last decade with very little change. Fairly steady, no change, tariffs or no tariffs — Biden actually kept the Trump term one tariffs.
It surpassed the Japanese steel production because Japan steel production has been in a steady decline for the last decade. On the other hand, Indian steel production is really taking off.
From what I remember the strength of US and Canadian steel production is not quantity but the quality of speciality steel products. Neither country can compete against the mass production of India and China.
Btw, wikipedia is a fairly good source for basic information. Sure, people will play around with their own biography but they usually get caught and eventually corrected — and then humiliated for attempting to do it.
