Merry Christmas. So much good food. For dessert yesterday a flourless chocolate cake with raspberries and whipped cream. Good for GF folks and the rest. Lots of vegies and fruit, too. Ham was the main thing. Today is leftovers and charcuterie.
The church service was lovely. Much more formal than our own, including communion being served.
There is nothing quite like watching children open gifts on Christmas morning. It really makes us laugh when the ‘best’ thing is some little, inexpensive item.
I was outside early this morning noticing the glorious day God was opening up. The sky had some lovely hues and the weather was warm for Christmas. I looked up ro the top of our neighbor’s Bartlett pear tree. I saw a squirrel way up high. It started coming down and hopped into the birthday tree near me, and then hid in the nearby ligustrum bush. It was watching to see if I had brought food. It has its nest in the Birthday tree. I was very joyful to be in its company on Christmas morning for first light.
went to sisters and had a good time. Even found gifts to take. 94 year old step mom was there so nice to see her. My daughter when I finally texted said of course I was invited. Came over after sisters and we were all sitting together sharing gifts. Very nice. Just got told that someone is sick so ex is not coming
The day is coming to an end and we head into the last week of the year. How long shall we keep up the tree?
Daughter in town texted this morning wishing us a Merry Christmas. And we were pleasantly surprised to receive a call from our son. It was good to hear his voice and we had a lovely chat. Turns out he sent us Omaha steaks and we thought it was from daughter who lives with us since she does it every year. But she got us pastries from the French bakery yesterday…we’re getting old and it’s hard to keep things straight!
I roasted a turkey and created different sides which were quite tasty. We have plenty of leftovers to last us for a week!
Hoping everyone had a lovely day. He is so so good and worthy to be praised!
Merry Christmas, Fellow Wanderers!

Belated Christmas greetings for NM. I have worked the past 2 nights, so kind of out of the loop. I am glad to hear everyone had a nice celebration.
