  1. I am thankful for our neighbor who plowed out our driveway while we were gone from home yesterday. He did several when he heard of the warmth coming our way. The snow will melt, and ice will be left, which can be a problem for the rest of winter. His thoughtfulness ended up with thanksgiving to the Lord.

  2. Update on Cody…he seems to be holding his own. Thank you for praying. His older brother and I graduated together. His son and my granddaughter Emily are the same age and will graduate this year.

  3. Rejoice with us. A friend’s daughter is pregnant and a routine blood exam suggested her baby had Batten’s Disease.

Unfortunately, that was listed in her lab report which she viewed and then fell completely apart at the ultimate result of Battens: severe handicapped, a miserably short life, terrible death.

    It’s a genetic disorder.

Naturally, she could not get a soul on the phone to help her and to explain.

Mom looked at her healthy 15-month-old and completely panicked, ultimately fainting from the emotions.

Massive grieving, including a suggestion of aborting the little boy, uncertainty and eventually an apology of sorts for her learning about this issue online.

It’s a genetic order from both sides. Husband did the blood work this week.

    He doesn’t have it.

That means the baby doesn’t either.

Rejoice with us–that is the screaming of joy you hearing coming from the West Coast.

Think what you like about how it was handled–then ask God to intervene in this young couple’s life to His glory.

And the same for my friend, the grandmother.

You can imagine how awful this has been–including soul destroying.

In other thankful news, my uncle came through surgery fine, mind intact, just tired. My family is so thankful.
