  1. Sure, that’ll work.

All it does is make innocents more vulnerable while officers hide from shooters. Just like this time.

“Australia’s Prime Minister proposes ‘tougher gun laws’ after Bondi Beach mass shooting”

“Australia is now trying to further disarm innocent people after they were slaughtered by imported jihadis.

Globalist politicians are punishing innocent citizens for the crimes of immigrant terrorists.

Meanwhile, coward cops hid with their guns for over 10 minutes while unarmed innocents were murdered.

Australia doesn’t need more gun laws.

    Australians need more guns.”

  2. What do you all think of President Trump’s Truth Social post about the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife?

~ “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!” ~

Did his 158-post spree within three hours earlier this month seem concerning to anyone?

  3. I have not had any thoughts on it at all. I knew nothing about the director and his wife except that his son is a murder suspect based on a news story I saw. I also saw he directed A Few Good Men, one of Art’s favorites that we have seen twice in the last few weeks. I knew nothing about Trump’s feelings about the man or the man’s toward Trump. I don’t care to dwell on such things during this season. I want to think positively of people until God gives me personal reason to not do so. Everyone can choose what they want to dwell on. Peace be with all who have reason to feel pain over this couple’s death.

  4. I am not certain what Truth Social is and when I googled 158 I came up with our President supposedly posted 158 comments on Dec 2?

If he penned the words cited above I would say it was uncharitable and inappropriate for such a time as this. Some are saying the statements are baseless but that is far from the truth. Rob Reiner spewed a lot of hatred towards our President and those who support his plans for our country. Do we know that this TS platform is controlled by our President or do others have input?

It is incredibly sad that this couple was murdered by their tortured son and now is not the time to banter about politics. When DJT was shot I was horrified by comments made by the left…and yes those in the highest levels of government made vile comments. When Charlie Kirk was murdered even more from the left. But now the left find it reprehensible that comments likewise were made. Not excusing the comments just the hypocrisy.

  5. NJ – Trump started Truth Social back when he had been temporarily kicked off Twitter. It’s like an alternative Twitter/X.

I am not on it, but his posts on there make the news fairly often.

  6. Australia needs more guns?

Weird take from this tragedy. This is the first mass shooting in Australia this year — it averages less than one a year. Gun control works. Some have noted that if the shooters had US style access to semi-automatic guns they could have shot more people. And a man without a gun ended the shooting — you don’t need good man with a gun you just need a good man

  7. No…you don’t take guns from good men…you put security in place to ensure the bad men don’t get them! Governments want to disarm citizens from defending themselves…it’s sinister at its very core. Many more men have ended shootings with a gun than not! Good for this good citizen who had no gun but the guts to tackle that monster!

  8. A responsible adult in the admin needs to take Trump’s phone. He spends too much time posting and then falling asleep when he should be awake. At his age, he needs to conserve his energy. In January, I told a friend that I gave JD about a year to invoke the 25th amendment. I’m impressed by his self-discipline.

People, left or right, post far too much garbage on social media. Its easy to ignore if its random individuals but if you a person in authority or have a social responsibility (teacher, cop politician, etc), you need to be careful in what you post. We should expect our political leaders to post with more responsibility than some random individuals. If they can’t we need to wonder at their state of mind.

Sure, some on the left consider the Trump assassination to be faked and mock it. On both the extreme right and left, Kirk’s shooting was mocked. However, these people were not the president — the bar should be higher for the president.

  9. NJ — the evidence is overwhelming gun control works. The US has more mass shootings than the rest of the world and the rate of mass shootings increased dramatically after the automatic weapons ban expired in 2004. As the Uvalde shooting demonstrated, good men with a gun are rare.

Janice — labelling fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction reminds me of Iraq and the Bush campaign leading up to the invasion. It seems the Trump admin wants to replay the Iraq invasion rhetoric as they try to justify aggression against Venezuela. Iraq 2.0. All of this weird, since its fairly well known most imported fentanyl comes from China either directly or indirectly. The majority of imported fentanyl comes through sea ports like Long Beach where gov’t officials rarely inspect containers as that would impede trade.

  10. Uvalde was a case of cowardly armed men…but the ending of Ramos life came from the gun of a brave armed man! Like I mentioned stricter security measures should be taken but a government has no right to disarm its citizenry according to OUR Constitution!

  11. Here’s my take on the Trump thing.

While it was crude and unnecessary, it also likely wasn’t posted by the president.

Likely an intern, and here’s the tell…

“…by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump…”

He would have said “his raging obsession of me…”

In all his time in politics I have never once heard Trump refer to himself in the third party like this. He doesn’t do it.

Once again, much ado about nothing.

Fire the probably unpaid intern that wrote it and move on.

  12. And that was my suspicion… the third person referencing. Try as I might I find no one validating it was Trump writing the post. I would hope he would address the post being attributed to him.

  13. Interestingly, Trump verbally referred to himself by his name while discussing the matter of that Truth Social post. . .

~ “The White House, which shared the president’s post, did not respond to a message about the criticism it was receiving and calls for Trump to take it down.

Speaking at the White House to reporters later Monday, Trump doubled down on his criticism of Reiner when he was asked if he stood by his post. Using the third person, Trump said Reiner “was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.” ~

That is mentioned by other sources as well.

(Funny that this uses the phrase “doubled down” as I did above. I had not read this yet when I wrote that.)
