  1. My grandson turns 15 today. Please pray that this will be the year when he turns to God and is saved.

Prayers for salvation for his mom, dad, other grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins, too, please. And for all of our families represented here.

  2. Oh how those years have flown Kizzie! We continue to pray his heart is drawn to the Saviour…and for those mentioned! Are ya’ll celebrating with lots of cake and ice cream?

  3. He is having a couple of friends spend the night, and we will be having pizza and probably cake and ice cream, too. Nightingale will be picking me up a little after 6:00.

(Not sure if I’ve mentioned that they recently moved into an apartment here in town.)

  4. I have mixed feelings about it. 🙂

On one hand, I really do appreciate having more privacy and not having to share my bathroom. But it is the first time in 40 years that I have lived alone, so it is quite an emotional and mental adjustment. (At night alone, when there are the various “old house noises,” I purposely do not let myself think of anything that would make me feel fearful.)

The hardest part with adjusting to this is that before it eventually became clear that we could not afford to repair and maintain this house in the ways it needs, I thought that this would be our family home for years to come. And maybe one day Chickadee would come back. That is not to be.

It is especially difficult for me to think about Chickadee not being able to live with me after I move to the senior living place. I am hoping that by the time she finally leaves the McK family (and I so hope and pray that she eventually does), she and her sister will be on better terms, and Nightingale will take her in.

(It is scary, and sometimes distressing, for me to think about what kind of future my beloved younger daughter may have. I have to keep putting her in God’s hands and asking Him to make a way for her.)

Nightingale’s apartment is very nice! It had been recently renovated, so it is in very good shape, and is quite attractive. Although not too small, it is smaller than what she had upstairs, so she has had to downsize her stuff, but she is happy with that. (She actually had more room than she needed upstairs.) The rooms are a decent size. And she can keep Janie, which was a priority for them. I really like her apartment, and more importantly, so does she. 🙂

  5. Thank you, Janice! And I have prayed that you will soon settle more comfortably into your new church home. Perhaps God will bring a new special friend to you there.

  6. Thank you, Kizzie. I wonder if with that new community going in where our mall used to be if there will be more people moving in looking for a church. The people in transition like that are usually more open to friendships rather than people who are long established in a church. When you move yourself, you will find new friends that you have not had available all these years. I am blessed to have walked five times this week with the lady I met early last week right around the corner from me. If you don’t hit just the right time to meet at the mailbox by chance, you never see people around my area (unless they are a dog walker).
