We got a cutting from a friend’s lilac bush 9 years ago when we moved to this house. Most of the leaves fell off last month, as did the leaves of the friend’s bush. I was going to cut this one down as the friend did to hers, but never got around to it. Well what a surprise to see it bloomed last week.
There’s another lilac near this one which kept all its leaves but didn’t bloom. Odd.
We voted this morning for Public Service Comm8sion members in a special election. It was the fastest we have ever gotten 8n and out.
Afterwards, we went to Walmart at a different location than usual. The cashiers who were not busy were standing at the end of their lanes ready to serve. They were friendly and kind. At the end of the transaction a screen popped up for a star rating about their service to the customer. Such an ingenious way to keep the employees diligent in earning stars for good service. Immediate feedback and motivation to always do the best.
I was so sorry when my husband cut down our huge lilac bush. It towered over the roof and was a bit too close to the house for him. I was planning on taking some of the little ones around it and transplanting, but he got those, too. We still have one bush, but I don’t like where we planted it. I have pruned it more than we did the other one. They should be pruned but will go for decades, regardless. We did give a start for our daughter, and she was amazed how fast it grew. She moved from where that one was planted but was blessed to have a yard where there were some already planted. They are such a sweet harbinger of spring. The poor things think it is spring. The master gardeners said it should not affect them for the real spring, fortunately.
Those are lovely lilacs! I can almost drink in the sweet perfume of them!!
My new resolution… never buy a home in an HOA… there may be a need for the sheriff to attend our annual vote meeting on Saturday…”adults” behaving very badly!!!😢

thanks, Janice, for sharing Joanne’s last post. I had read it but it feels like your sharing keeps her alive on the blog.
I remember that when she was last home she was working so hard to fix up her home

Windy here. Just a heard a loud boom down the street, and the power went out. Sounded like a transformer blowing. Oh well….
