  1. Happy Saturday to all!

Art and I spent a few hours at the phone store late yesterday getting him a new phone. His old phone was swollen with a battery gone bad. Thankful that because the car in the shop had to be picked up it meant Art came home in time to shop for the phone.

  2. New phones confound me… I loved my very first flip phone!📞

Today the fire dept will be chipping the slash piles put out by neighbors. My Mr has a chipper and chips our slash throughout the year. It should be a rather noisy Saturday around here!

  3. Prayers for all pastors to have words from the Holy Spirit to speak tomorrow to their flocks about the tragic death and murder of Charlie Kirk whom I definitely regard as a Christian martyr.

  4. Charlie is having a much greater outreach now than ever before. Amazing how that works. It must be something to do with that Bible verse in Roman’s, “God causes all things to work for good . . .”

I no longer have a WordPress account and am totally switched over to Jetpack. They indicated that if you are running on both you may have trouble. Maybe that is why we’ve all had issues for some time.

  5. Sorry for quibbling, but it seems to me that Charlie Kirk was killed for his politics, not necessarily for his faith. Perhaps it will come out that his murderer had that in mind, too, but as for now, it looks more like a political killing.

  6. It was for his faith. Quibble as much as desired. I am firm in my resolve on that matter. It had to be brought to this thread didn’t it? The relentless. Agree to disagree, peacefully? No name calling, just, acknowledging a polar opposite worldview.

  7. Janice – How is a cautious disagreement that Kirk was killed for his politics rather than (or for more than) his faith a “polar opposite worldview”?

As for my comment being on this thread, it was in response to your comment above, on this thread, at 9:20.

  8. Quibbles with Best Buy? Seems customer service is no longer a thing nowadays…Lowe’s is off my list forever.

Charlie’s focus was always his faith during any debate or open discourse. The enemy of our souls writhed at truth spoken. Transgenderism, abortion, homosexuality are moral issues not political as much as the left try to make it. They are void of a moral compass therefore they politicize it….imho The demonic has played the card and awakened a sleeping giant….

  9. Yes, those are indeed issues of morality, but they are also political hot button issues.

Looking at my email newsletters a little while ago, this popped up:

“Suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing had a new interest in politics and a ‘squeaky clean’ reputation”

~ “Cox, the governor, described the fatal shooting of Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and an influential conservative activist, as a “political assassination.”

On Friday he described inscriptions found on bullet casings that were with a high-powered, bolt-action rifle discovered near campus. Authorities believe the weapon, a Mauser 98 .30-06 with a mounted scope, belonged to Robinson.

The inscriptions reference fascism, obscure internet memes and video games.” ~

  10. @9:34 I said my prayer comment had been meant for the prayer thread meaning that anyone who wished to pray with me about the pastors addressing what happened to Charlie would have some prayer support.

World view comment relates to one seeing from the basis of faith that Charlie let guide his words and how he treated people or looking at things from a worldly view, thinking politics drives actions of the killer and that makes it all a political thing. Two different world views.

I find that many people have not listened much to Charlie to know his heart. A liberal friend learned all about him from Wikipedia and liberal news sources that do not realize the faith that drove him because it is not in them to understand because they dismiss him without listening to the original source, his actual words and debates. He was so gifted and really showed love to all people. He truly listened to hurting people with a heart like Jesus.

  11. We have to remember, though, that whether or not it was political or religious is based on the murderer’s viewpoint, not on what Charlie Kirk actually said. People have said that this young man had recently become very political.

Please note that in my first comment, I said, “. . . not necessarily for his faith. Perhaps it will come out that his murderer had that in mind, too, but as for now, it looks more like a political killing.”

I did not completely rule out that his faith was part of it, I merely said that as it stands now, it looks more political.

  12. Like I said the left has politicized it due to the lack of a moral compass. We as believers… like Charlie Kirk…see the root causation…sin. One simply cannot legislate morality…but God

  13. BTW, my thinking that Kirk’s assassination was done in response to his politics more than for his faith does not mean that I am discounting or denigrating his faith in any way. My point is that it is the motivation of the killer/assassin that makes the difference.

  14. I get it Kizzie but I do believe we all agree that even if some view this as political, the root cause of the discontent is sin. Which makes it a faith issue…yes? I find it concerning that some may turn Charlie Kirk into something he would not want. The statue, naming of parks, schools, holidays…I have followed him for a long time and his heart would only want Christ glorified…nothing of himself. He would want those left behind to have the passion and fervor that dwelled in him for Christ to be ignited..to give their lives to Him…and serve Him all the rest of their days…

  15. Charlie’s motivation started long ago when he obeyed God’s will and followed Him. Political involvement was a necessary sideline to his main thing.

How does God see this? Maybe that Satan used a young man who readily filled the void where faith in a God who loves him was filled with rage and hatred that caused him to be a willing instrument of Satan to take out a beloved, dedicated, and adopted son of God. The young man who committed the crime thought he would be hero to all who wanted Charlie to stop speaking. But we know Charlie spoke God’s word and it does not return void. It has even more pathways to spread worldwide now.

The killer’s message of hate, rage, and violence, all anti-gospel messages, goes out, too. I see one of the two messages to be the one to survive forever, according to God’s word. This is all being worked out in the unseen spiritual realm. As Christians, do we only take the worldly view or do we look with eyes of faith and hearts informed by God’s word?

The world only sees a political assassination. Christians, who choose to do so, see a different perspective based on knowledge of God’s word. Two very different world views.

  16. Indeed. And Christ spoke of these tumultuous days…

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Thenmany false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

And maybe some Christians who also have a knowledge of God’s word can see this a little differently. As I have been trying to say, my words have been focused on the motives of the killer, whether or not they were political or religious, and for the time being, it looks political.

  18. BTW, that does not mean that there was not a spiritual aspect to the act. But that is true of any crime, in one way or another, especially when perpetrated against a believer.

  19. Could it be that this young man who they say was gay and living with a transgender person felt condemnation? He was apparently raised in the Mormon church where he certainly would have been exposed to some scripture albeit taught through the lens of Mormonism. Perhaps he felt a spiritual assault when words of truth were spoken by Charlie which instilled hatred in this young man. There are many facets to the unraveling of the mind of this assassin but having watched many debates and dialogues Charlie had with students, I saw many if not most taking a defensive stance when he spoke truth to their sin. I didn’t hear many of them speak of “legislating” against their positions on issues rather that he was basing his “suppositions” on his faith….there was always a spiritual aspect to his challenges…

  20. Jesus was killed because of politics, if you look at it in the natural realm. Both the Jewish hierarchy and the Romans did what they did to keep their positions of power.

Many of the martyrs in scripture died because of political enemies. It is not so easy to divide the political from the purely spiritual.

All law is a legislation of morality. It is only a matter of whose. If you take morality out of law, there is nothing left.

You cannot coerce anyone to love the Lord. That is why freedom is so important. People must have the freedom to choose. They must also be able to know the choices. That is why dialogue is so important. I didn’t follow Charlie, but the people I know who did, loved the Lord. They are not people who hate. I trust their opinions.

I do agree that the important thing is that people come to know the Lord, not worship any man.

  21. We had some discussion in Sunday school about Charlie, and a portion of the sermon was about his great faith. Quite a time back the pastor had entitled his message for today (from Genesis), God’s Promises Stand: Trusting His Plan in a World of Conflict. So appropriate.

The pastor also did a sideline explanation of what true Nazis and fascists do so hopefully not one in the congregation or listening online would misunderstand the words that freely flow from the true haters who incite violence.

I cried seeing the touching video of Erika at the casket touching Charlie’s tie, telling him that she loved him over and over, and kissing his hand. A funeral director on another post said how important it was for this peaceful video to be made as a last remembrance instead of the traumatic video of the last moment of his life. I have not seen that.

There was not a single mention of who had killed Charlie.
