You can’t seriously complain about a compromised judge when you’ve ignored the corruption and conflict of interest that happens everyday in both Congress and the Supreme Court. I used to think the British parliamentary system was corrupt but nothing beats the US Congress and Court.
Similarly you can’t complain about Big Pharma after cheering on Citizen’s United and supporting Republicans as they take on money from the fossil fuel industry. The corruption is bi-partisan and permeates everything.
However, don’t throw out vaccines just because they are sold by pharmaceutical companies. If anything, this indicates a need to take out the profit motive in health care.
As I stated before, the rise in autism rates have to do with an expanded definition, better diagnosis, and special education grants. There is and has never been a link between autism and vaccines. The few studies have been retracted. One cited a preservative that is no longer used. And others cite early use of MMR vaccine, not the actual vaccine.
As I stated before, go for a walk in the 1940s section of your local cemetery. If you want to see rows of children’s graves in the 2030s, end vaccine programs.
The rate of death in Hep B is 4 in a million not including its relation to other liver diseases including cancer. For Hep C its 29 per million, again not including its link to other diseases. If this rate isn’t fatal enough for the critics, perhaps they will accept Hep B or C.
Republican hypocrisy is on full display as DeSantis ended public school vaccine mandates but sends his kids to a private school where vaccines are mandatory. Its okay for the poor kids to get measles but not his kids.
Geriatric politicians really need to retire. They are no longer effective and have little ideological motivation other than self interest and preservation. People have institutional wisdom and knowledge to pass on but more often they are just an obstacle. Both parties are far better off if they retire politicians like Waters and Grassley. Sure some are still healthy — my dad was physically health til he was over 90 and mentally all there even at 96 but that’s rare.

The American judiciary system quite often puzzles me – its far too politicised and at the same time far too important and arbitrary. I’m not sure term limits are the answer but a retirement age makes sense. Canada has a 75 year old retirement age for judges and that makes sense. It also might be a good cut off age for politicians to run for office — ie you can’t run for office if you are over 75.
Trump is far more tired this term than last. And more mentally tired than physically tired — and it’s obvious. Sure he can golf but that includes a driver who will often place the ball in an easy place for him. The other difference is this term I sense he is far more involved in the day to day affairs — he’s not deferring to “experts” as he did the first term.

I am around old people all the time. No way does Trump look old and incapable, whether you support him or not. Anyone who said Biden was fine or refused to admit he was obviously impaired has no business saying anything about Trump’s age, IMO.
Having said that, I think it is a job for a man younger than him. Things can change rapidly when you get to that age. I also would prefer not to have too young a person, since wisdom usually takes some experience.
I find it interesting the suggestion that 70 be a cut off age for President. Does one not realize the wisdom gained by our elders? I agree that a candidate should take cognitive evaluations by professionals… not partisans. But I would rather have gray hair sitting in the Oval Office than a young bloviator wanting to set the world on fire with their “ wisdom”
And there most certainly should be term limits for the House, Senate and the courts. I am around old people all the time. No way does Trump look old and incapable, whether you support him or not. Anyone who said Biden was fine or refused to admit he was obviously impaired has no business saying anything about Trump’s age, IMO.
Having said that, I think it is a job for a man younger than him. Things can change rapidly when you get to that age. I also would prefer not to have too young a person, since wisdom usually takes some experience.

I find it interesting the suggestion that 70 be a cut off age for President. Does one not realize the wisdom gained by our elders? I agree that a candidate should take cognitive evaluations by professionals… not partisans. But I would rather have gray hair sitting in the Oval Office than a young bloviator wanting to set the world on fire with their “ wisdom”
And there most certainly should be term limits for the House, Senate and the courts. If there are limits for President why not those in the other areas where they stay until they keel over with not one brain cell left!? Oh yes they have cushy jobs retirement healthcare special dispensation in areas the regular Joe citizen is not afforded.
President Trump is in good health and some can’t stand that. They overlooked and lied about Biden’s bad health and mental decline and ,of course they overlooked his continual lying plagiarism and his cover up of “family” business so I suppose that’s par for the course. Then there is that pesky auto pen used by his handlers….
