“@HughHewitt to @BretBaier on President Trump’s massive legal victory against NY AG Letitia James: “It is a huge thing, Bret, and the key phrase is the one that you read: violates the Eighth Amendment. That opens up the door and I hope the president walks through it, to a 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against the attorney general and Judge Engoron, who was sort of a Looney Tunes character through this whole thing. Of all the lawfare weighs against Donald Trump, this proceeding in New York was the most ridiculous. No victims, no injuries, nothing, and a half a billion dollar fine for that reason. The court was embarrassed and to withdrawing it. Even if they’re Democrats, they had to do it. And I hope the President goes back for the millions of dollars the interest on his bond cost him. This is the first of many wins he will enjoy, because the New York judicial system is so badly broken.””

Crooked Letitia James & Engoron should both be disbarred and removed from office for malicious prosecution and abusive process.

  3. “The press is flipping out because the Trump administration has announced it is reviewing ALL 55 million foreigners with visas in America to see who has committed crimes or other misconduct that would justify removal.

Of course, the panic says it all. The press doesn’t want valuable, useful, desirable immigrants coming to America. They just want an unlimited flood.

But the American people feel differently. America isn’t a dumping ground for the world’s troublemakers, parasites, and problems.

This WAY overdue and will prove massively popular.”

“The Supreme Court tossed another injunction blocking the Trump Administration. Justice Gorsuch delivered this haymaker to lower court judges: “Lower court judges may sometimes disagree with this Court’s decisions, but they are never free to defy them.”

    —-

“The Supreme Court’s ruling slapping down nationwide injunctions is a long-overdue check on activist judges who’ve weaponized their benches to sabotage America-First policies. For years, rogue district courts operated as de facto legislatures—halting border security, immigration enforcement, and energy independence with universal edicts.

Justice Gorsuch’s majority opinion rightly exposes this judicial overreach, reaffirming that lower courts exist to resolve disputes between parties, not dictate national policy. The era of forum-shopping to activist judges in San Francisco or Maryland for countrywide paralysis ends now.

Next step? Codify this precedent to prevent future sabotage of executive authority.”

  5. 50 million illegals ??? 55 million visa holders?? Where do these numbers come from? The former is impossible. The latter might be accurate but that would include those on long term green cards who have been in the US for decades

The US population is about 340 million — the above numbers suggest 30% of the population is either illegal or has a visa. And you want to deport all of them? That would destroy the economy and any semblance of normality.

I thought the idea was to get rid of the illegal immigrants not those who went through all the legal processes and have been contributing members of society……. but it isn’t is it?

But overstating your visa is also a civil offense, and makes you’re being here illegal. And it’s punishable by removal and barred from reentry.

“Overstaying a visa is generally not a criminal offense in the United States but rather a civil violation, though it can lead to serious immigration consequences like removal (deportation), being barred from re-entry for several years, and even permanent inadmissibility. While federal law currently distinguishes between civil visa overstays and criminal offenses like illegal entry, there are ongoing legislative efforts, such as the Visa Overstay Penalties Act, to classify some overstays as criminal offenses with potential fines or imprisonment.

    Civil Violation vs. Criminal Offense

Civil Violation:Overstaying a U.S. visa is a violation of immigration law that triggers civil penalties rather than criminal ones.

Criminal Offenses:In contrast, actions like entering or re-entering the United States without authorization are considered criminal offenses and can result in fines or imprisonment.

    Consequences of OverstayingCancellation of Visa:

    Your visa becomes void.

    Unlawful Presence and Inadmissibility Bars:

Overstaying a visa for 180 days or more can result in being declared “unlawfully present”.

3-Year Bar: Overstaying for 180 days to less than one year and then departing can result in a 3-year ban from re-entering the U.S. 10-Year Bar:

Overstaying for one year or more can lead to a 10-year ban. Ineligibility for Other Immigration Benefits: You may be barred from adjusting your status or getting future visas in the U.S. Removal Proceedings: You can be placed in removal (deportation) proceedings.

    Ongoing Legislative Changes

There is legislative momentum to make visa overstays a criminal offense. For example, the Visa Overstay Penalties Act seeks to impose criminal penalties, including imprisonment, for visa overstays.”

  11. I am currently studying in the book of Exodus. I am at the point of the Jews leaving Egypt behind. There were about 600,000 men who left and with others added on it totaled around 2,000,000. Thinking of those big numbers back then and wondering how the percentage compares with the Exodus of another kind that we are witness to today.

The numbers are quite fascinating. It is the individuals that make up those numbers that can bring heartbreak when considered. It can be heartbreak over all the bad stuff that perpetrators were allowed to do to people while here, or the loss of the good that came from ones having to go because they broke the law originally by deciding to come here illegally and now their family is ripped apart. It is certainly a God-sized mess. We don’t live in Utopia or heaven so there is no perfect solution, but what we have now is much better than what we had last year.

Last year we had untold numbers of undocumented children being allowed to be trafficked, and we never have heard their stories. Silence of the media. Their stories would be worse than all the sad stories we hear today, I fear. No one could bear to hear their stories.

  14. Often, it was the second generation, the children of the immigrants, who learned the language. It takes time.

Many, maybe even most, illegal immigrants do indeed make an effort to assimilate and work and raise their families as best they can. With any group of people, it is always the minority who cause the problems, but get the most attention, casting suspicion on all of them.

  15. The 55 million has to include green card holders or the number makes no sense. From what I can gather the 55 million would be green card holders, work visa holders and temporary work visa holders. Green card holders are subject to a 10 year renewal but general are considered permanent residents. The others may be subject to both employer and gov’t whims.

Those who overstay a visa are normally those who enter on a tourist visa and then stay. I think that’s the rules AJ refers to in his posts. I don’t think they are included in the 55 million number.

The vast majority of both legal and illegal migrants are law abiding. In fact, stats usually indicate a lower crime rate among immigrants — subject to definition, area, and time period.

I don’t think there was every a golden age of immigration. It may have been easier to absorb immigrants when natives were dispossessed and immigrants were given homesteads. In other situations, immigrants were used as scabs to break unions or to fight in the US army as substitutes, ie cannon fodder. And of course, ethnic groups brought their own criminal groups with them — the mafia for one.

  16. Bolton — I’m amused — they are eating their own, time for the show trials. I’m waiting for the night of the long knives.

AJ — not sure what protest film that is being posted but the only protest in Kiev was four weeks ago. Zelensky is still incredibly popular in Ukraine, more popular than I thought he would be. The latest round of so-called peace talks probably increased his standing as the EU stood by him and its obvious the Trump admin is merely engaged in performative acts. Putin appears not to have budged and thus the Ukrainians have very little choice but to continue to back Zelensky.

Meanwhile Gabbard stopped intelligence sharing of the peace talks and Putin summit with the Five Eyes intelligence cmttee. Thus the Trump admin is trying to keep what happend with the Trump-Putin talks away from its Anglophone partners. This is extremely rare even in the cold war and one wonders why Canada and the UK, strong Ukraine allies, are banned from information sharing.

“President Trump’s Administration Cuts Off California’s Federal Funding

The Department of Health and Human Services has terminated California’s PREP grant after the state refused to strip radical gender ideology from its taxpayer-funded sex ed curriculum.

PREP funds are meant to prevent teen pregnancy and STDs. Instead, California used them to push students, some as young as 10, to “explore gender identity options,” consider hormone therapy, breast removal, and even genital mutilation.

@HHSGov reviewers ruled the curriculum not medically accurate, not age appropriate, and a misuse of taxpayer money. California was given 60 days to remove the gender ideology content. They refused. Funding pulled.

Officials say other states are also under review and will face the same consequences if they cross the line.

The Bottom line? No more federal dollars for gender indoctrination in America’s classrooms.”

  19. I would wager we are all thankful for having been born in this country. We live in a different time than our ancestors. Mine came from Germany and Ireland. Legally . They were poor. They worked to provide for their families. Not one expectation of those living here to provide for them in any way shape or manner. And I will guarantee they would not have come here by breaking our laws as their first action in this nation! My great grandparents did not fly the German nor Irish flags. They embraced the nation that allowed them to come. My great grandparents spoke German but learned to speak English as did my grandmother. No special accommodations for their language to be spoken to them…no “press 1 for English”!!!

  20. Prior to the 1920s its doubtful there was a distinction between legal and illegal. People just showed up. And there was very little control at the land borders. Passports for example were not in wide use until after in WW1 after which they were standardised. And on the Canadian-US border it was enough to declare your nationality and perhaps show an ID (driver’s license, health card etc) to cross back and forth until 2002.

So for many of those who comment here, their ancestors just showed up without documentation. And after a cursory medical check, they were allowed in. Even in the 1950s, my dad lost his papers on board the ship yet was allowed into Canada and after obtaining temporary papers travelled between Canada and the US.

The Irish suffered from discrimination when they arrived in the US and thus stuck together not much different than today’s immigrants. Many of the “jobs” they found were courtesy of the Irish mob who controlled prostitution, alcohol, gambling etc in places like Boston and NewYork. The Gangs of New York is a documentary. The Italian, Russians and Chinese immigration experience is quite similar.

German, Dutch and Scandinavians settled in the upper midwest where they stuck together and helped each other only integrating by the second and third generation. In some cases entire towns were created by one ethnicity. Even today places like Pella and Sioux Center Iowa are more less Dutch enclaves. They may speak English but that’s after three or four generations. In South Dakota, German was taught in the public school system even in the 1980s — three or four generations after Germans settled South Dakota.

My point is simple — the immigrant experience of those who came 100 years ago is being replicated by current immigrants except they speak Spanish and Chinese, have a darker skin etc

People here who are anxious to ‘burn it all down’ should stop and consider what it means to lose your civilization. The lives of multiple generations are affected. Stable food supply, basic healthcare, and the safety and security we all take for granted are lost.

An estimated 1,038,000 abortions were provided by clinicians in states without total bans in 2024, a less than 1% increase from 2023 and an increase of 12% from 2020.1 This count includes medication abortions provided via telemedicine by US clinicians, with pills mailed to patients in states without total bans or bans on telemedicine. It does not include self-managed abortions, such as those using medications mailed from pharmacies outside the United States. Evidence suggests self-managed abortions have increased since Dobbs.2

    • I think this is tragic. We are literally killing our future. But if we take the attitude about these deaths that we do about the deaths of children in Gaza, — that we’ll be concerned about them ‘ when their parents are’— where does that leave us? And personally, I believe that people who have already drawn the breath of life have a greater claim, not lesser, to our concern and protection than people who have not yet breathed and may never do so for whatever reason.

  23. We are killing our future in more ways than one. Every once in a while my family gets the opportunity to go to lunch at a Chinese buffet after church on Sunday. The food is good and the price fairly affordable, but one of the things that we particularly enjoy about this establishment is seeing the people. There must be a Spanish church nearby because the Mexican families are such a pleasure to see. They walk in single file led by the father and mother. Usually 6 or 7 children follow obediently behind, with the older siblings occasionally helping the younger, sometimes carrying a toddler on the hip. Each one is impeccably dressed for church. They are all very short; I’m 5’3″ and I usually tower over the men. I especially love seeing the little boys not even 3 feet tall but dressed in their best little suits and sometimes ties as well marching right along. They appear happy and loved.

There are many families like this. Or there used to be. We’ve noticed that most are missing in the last few months. Perhaps some are no longer here, or they are just afraid to come out. I don’t know which. But this also, is tragic.

We desperately need to know how to encourage young families again. Not be so harsh. Build them up, not tear them apart. Encourage them that childbearing and rearing is a worthwhile endeavor. We might not have to worry so much about abortion if we find a way to do this.

I guess I don’t go around seeing if someone who is caring for the poor is the exact definition of an evangelical, but every single prolife person I know also gives and works to help others. Many have adopted the unwanted themselves or given for others to be able to do so. They support all kinds of mission work whether physical or seeking the lost. The ones I know don’t brag about it, however.
