Sweet photos today. I am sorry for your loss, Janice, and pray for the comfort and healing your heart will need. What a God we have who even provided domestic animals for our good in so many ways, even for our amusement and comfort!
Aww . . . Thank you, AJ! She was a fine and elegant and fiesty cat even to the end♡ God blessed us so much with her gentle passing near daybreak yesterday. I’d had much anxiety thinking of trying to put her in the carrier to take her to the vet. How much I appreciate that God revived her for the past two weeks so we saw her enjoy life and express her personality again after those days she’d spent hidden away in lonely places like in the dark cabinets. God gives such good gifts to his children.
I am sad that my friend’s 50 y/o son passed away yesterday, too. I just found out this morning.
We got her right before Christmas in 2013. My first post would have been then. AJ was looking for a kitten, and I think he gave thought to perhaps rescuing her.
It was when son had gone out to TX to go to Baylor so we did not get to see him very often, and missed two years seeing him because of Covid. Miss Bosley made it bearable to be so isolated during Covid. Art worked all the way through Covid as his business was considered essential. I was really alone. Now I have more friends than back then, so that helps a lot going forward with a true empty nest.
I remember Janice initially trying to find a home for this kitten who showed up on her doorstep. As a few days with no takers went by, I knew that eventually she and Art would decide to keep her. One of the best decisions they ever made, I am sure!
God comfort you both, Janice, as you and Art grieve your beloved Miss Bosley. We will miss hearing of her adventures.
The header photo shows her in highly excited mode, getting ready to pounce. She has the wild big-eyed cat look reserved for special ‘About to Get’em’ times. We’d see those eyes and know to keep a distance.
I did not mention this, but during her illness, she had lost the fur around her eyes and looked a bit like a racoon. That hair grew back before she died. That was another gift. I had thought of her as the Velveteen Rabbit withe the fur loved off. She looked so pathetic with the fur gone.
Son was at a conference this week in downtown Orlando, I think at a Marriott. They actually had an alligator pond inside on the lobby level! I cannot imagine who had that crazy idea!
Now I ask the bright souls here to ponder this. A kitten was crying loudly on our front porch this morning. My guess is that it is 6 to 8 weeks old. It is a cute black and white with a black mustache so it could be called Hitler or Groucho or a combo of the two. Our car is in the shop so I have no way to get cat supplies if I was so inclined. I called the neighbors who have children but it is not theirs. Am I suppose to feel responsible for this little one or hope it goes elsewhere? I left it outside since it is not too cold and I no longer hear the MEOWING so it either went to sleep or elsewhere.
I didn’t have anything else to do so I did he research. Interesting reading those posts from 12 years ago. I hadn’t realized the “Miss” was added to the name because Janice thought it was a boy at first.

Pets become members of the family, even when they stay outside. So when they pass from us, a part of the family goes with them.

Miss Bosley was entirely a blog pet. Yu posted when she arrived and now we mourn her loss with you
Does anyone know when Janice made that very first post?

I thought the same thing, Jo and Kizzie. We MADE Janice adopt Miss B.
Can you find those old posts, AJ?
I think I’m going to miss hearing about her.

“Inquiring minds want to know”
Someone asked about when Janice got Miss Bosley. Here is her first post about her:
